The far-right congresswoman has increasingly broken ranks with the MAGA movement, leading even Donald Trump to wonder ‘What’s going on with Marjorie?’

Marjorie Taylor Greene has hit out at her fellow Republicans for “doing nothing” about rising food and healthcare costs in her latest breach with the Trump administration.

In an interview with the conservative broadcaster Real America’s Voice on Tuesday, the Georgia congresswoman warned that letting Joe Biden’s Affordable Care Act subsidies expire at the end of the year would “crush” Americans’ finances.

Those subsidies are now at the heart of a government shutdown that’s lasted 15 days and counting. Senate Democrats are demanding the subsidies be extended as a condition of reopening the government while Republicans are refusing to budge.

Isn’t it obvious? She’s positioning herself for a presidential run in 2028 by pointing out issues she has with the current administration, and where she would make improvements.

She’s going to run for president in 2028. Which also means not all MAGAs aren’t on board with a permanent Trump presidency. They’re all jackals, they want a bite at the prey, too.

Yep, we have now reached the point in the clownworld timeline where Marjorie Taylor Green, the Jewish Space Lasers lady who did campaign ads by just shooting a physical representation of ‘socialism’ with a 50 cal anti materiel rifle… this woman is seemingly a ‘moderate Republican’, a ‘voice of reason’ within the party, to use the mainstream political vernacular of roughly 10 years ago.

Go back 10 years, and if you told anyone that anything like this was even possible, much less probable, likely, you would be called insane.

And that’s not a hypothetical, because I did, and I was.

What that shows you is how immensely brainwashed and politically illiterate and/or disingenuous almost everyone, on all sides, was, institutional or citizen, political news junkie / official wonk or couldn’t care less.

I mean ‘American Exceptionalism’ not as being literally true in any sense, I mean it in the actual Political Science / Sociological sense of attempting to differentiate various democracies and their behaviors from each other.

‘American Exceptionalism’ is … or was, basically our national ethos, a kind of shared, secular religion, a subtext that was basically always present, referred back to often, but not as often just directly stated.

We did, for quite a long time, just quite arrogantly think we were special, basically magically so, immune from or indifferent to many things that all societies have to grapple with.

So, now our core cultural identity has been revealed to be entirely bullshit, and as a result, basically everyone is having a psychotic break / existential crisis / nihlistic withdrawal …all the time.

But anyway, yes, I totally agree with you that in the 20th century, it really all does just boil down to not having our own territory being literally blown to oblivion in WW2, and then misinterpreting that obviously leading to roughly one generation of massively abnormal economic gains… as proof that we are just magically amazing, the ‘indespensible nation’ that was leading the world to the ‘end of history’, all that bullshit.

            EDIT:

As an addendum to that last paragraph…

The Boomers are the worst thing that has ever happened to this country, they lived in the literal best economic boom anywhere in the world, in the entire 20th century, at least if you simplify down to capitalist economies…

… and they think that was all them, and they had it tough actually.

No, they are the luckiest and most spoiled and delusional generation in American history.

And they continuously voted to destroy everything that underpinned their own opulence from possibly carrying forward onto other subsequent generatioms.

I hope that’s true. The cynic in me thinks she’s playing the long game and plans to make a presidental run, which means breaking away from MAGA to be more palatable to reublican, neoliberal, and independent voters. The cynic in me also thinks that she’s pissed she didn’t get a cabinet spot, so she’s breaking with the party to throw a metaphoric tantrum. All speculation; I really hope she’s come to her senses.

Idk. She hasn’t done anything nearly as grifter-y as a typical Republican, especially the QAnon type. She was into QAnon back when it was an obscure movement and hasn’t really grifted people with it through the usual currency exchange scams, crypto tokens, etc. I think she’s a true believer in her principles, it’s just that she’s an incredibly stupid and incompetent person and those principles are stupid as well. I don’t know if someone who is incredibly stupid and easily swayed who actually has principles is better or worse than someone who is actually competent but has no principles and is only driven by greed and personal gain.

I think a lot of people who do evil things don’t see themselves as evil.

I think the Bushes were evil people who did evil things and I’ll never forgive them.for all the damage they caused. But I also don’t think they were unpatriotic. They believed in what they did and thought they were making society better.

I think MTG is the really stupid, slightly more evil version of that. She really wants to make things better, but not for everyone. But when she clearly sees that the people she does care about (uaully right-wing racist trash) are being hurt, she wants to make things better for them.

I think her being the “smart” one should tell us something about the rest of the Republicans. She’s not the smart one. The rest of them are confident in the fascists ability to hold power through state violence. She appears smart because she’s reacting to the unfavorable view most people have of the administration (while remaining loyal to Trump and never calling him out by name).

She’s not being fed talking points now; so she actually is just defaulting to a somewhat reasonable position from shit she sees as popular.

She’s not a part of the main leadership and she has only ever made a name for herself by being “more radical”. Well, the Democrats are limp dicks and the Republicans are rounding up people and putting them in labor camps. The only move she has is to literally just say reasonable shit to remain relevant.

She recently was on Tim Dillon podcast and my impression of the situation: She’s a duplicitous lip-server. Shes delusional enough to rationalize the impending healthcare disaster the dems point to as actually “lapses in Obamacare”, not at all because the BBB bill just passed by her party. Also, she is just protesting with dems where convenient because she is capitalizing on some popularity internal to MAGA. It’s easy to hold her party leaders to account and follow through on promises if that means getting some leverage later on.

If you’re referring to Elizabeth II, she wasn’t the queen of England, she was queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (along with being the monarch of several other independent kingdoms.) The “Queen of England” title hasn’t been used to refer to the well-known British monarch since the early 18th century, which means that the GP poster must descend from a secret royal line that’s been operating in the shadows, waiting for the correct moment to reveal themselves to the world.

MTG’s approach to politics is to say the most outrageous shit to gain attention and clout. She has no principles at all, other than “Any publicity is good publicity”.

Right now, she’s being crowded out by all the other Republicans like Nancy Mace, Pam Bondi, Kristi Noem etc. being just as crazy as she is. She can’t go any crazier without losing support, so she has to pivot in the opposite direction in order to stand out and get the media’s attention like she used to.

It’s working, by the way. Until she started saying this stuff, did you see anything from MTG? I didn’t.
