I don’t know that poison will be enough. If you really want to keep the humans away you should make sure that all humans are allergic to you. If you trigger an allergic reaction as soon as you hit their tongue they will probably finally leave you in peace!

Yes, and birds being able to spread seeds across larger distances than mammals is most likely the evolutionary reason for all that capsaicin. Until humans came along. And opossums, which are just immune to capsaicin, because opossums are just immune to a fuckton of stuff, like rattlesnake venom, scorpion venom, rabies, or eating their own body weight in chocolate cake.
