Image, and a considerable amount of the preamble’s analysis, comes from this article in People’s Dispatch.

A week ago, the Bolivian left-wing party, the Movement Towards Socialism (MAS), currently led by Luis Arce, decisively lost the round of elections against the right-wing. This comes after a prolonged period of “infighting” between Arce, and Morales, who previously led the MAS prior to the 2019 coup which briefly installed Jeanine Anez.

I put infighting in quotes because despite the nominal similarities between Arce and Morales, it is clear that this is not merely a counterproductive battle between two men - instead, the Bolivian left has arrived at a time of unavoidable conflict between two competing strategies. The electoral strategy is represented by Arce, who has aligned himself with a more middle-class-oriented campaign that is more economically liberal, whereas Morales represents a more working-class-oriented campaign that seeks to go further than tepid reform.

Such a conflict between electoralism and revolutionary action is inevitable in any and every developing country that 1) possesses a functioning left-wing party or organization, and 2) is under internal and/or external pressure by capitalists. This crisis must be resolved eventually - and this electoral failure is how such a crisis is manifesting right now. So while the Bolivian left has indeed lost the election, it is not yet defeated. The revolutionary campaign can, if it is willing, still ultimately stand triumphant. But what must be done is a real movement towards socialism, which goes beyond technocrats reforming from above, and instead transforms the state into a full political project of the working class, in which their movements, organizations, and protests are genuinely empowered. Such a project will involve repression by the forces of reaction, not least by the United States, but it is the only road left to take.

OpenAI in the news again, fully embodying the ethos “move fast, kill people.”

    content warning: suicide

Basically looks like some teenager discussed plans to kill himself for months with ChatGPT. Even helped him tie a noose, get the right supplies, etc. Very grim stuff in this article.

But in January, when Adam requested information about specific suicide methods, ChatGPT supplied it. Mr. Raine learned that his son had made previous attempts to kill himself starting in March, including by taking an overdose of his I.B.S. medication. When Adam asked about the best materials for a noose, the bot offered a suggestion that reflected its knowledge of his hobbies. ChatGPT repeatedly recommended that Adam tell someone about how he was feeling. But there were also key moments when it deterred him from seeking help.

Read it here: A Teen Was Suicidal. ChatGPT Was the Friend He Confided In.

Omfg I checked the Facebook comments on this and like half of them are saying this is some sort of false flag to rope Estonia into the war and that the government needs to scare us to put more funds into defence. Shocking sentiment, never thought I’d see it here. If only there was any political party that could capitalize on it, the left party used to be against militarization but they seem to have reneged on that

Upgrades of Russia’s Pantsir air defense systems are reportedly “in full swing,” according to Fighter Bomber. Each system will carry a larger number of missiles, of a new type, which is supposedly cheaper and faster to produce.

Pantsir is capable of firing while on the move, a rare ability among anti-air systems, which makes it (theoretically) very well suited to protecting advancing convoys. You may recall Russia attempting just that at the beginning of the war, to mixed results.

While Russia has been holding back its tanks from the front line, they have been busy working on integrating Arena-M active protection systems. They recently released a video proving that they are capable of intercepting Javelin top-attack missiles.

Wireless drones have also been more or less obsoleted by the improvement in electronic warfare systems. If Russia can come up with a good counter to fiber optic drones, we could very soon see the return of big arrow maneuver warfare.

With the collective West reportedly running out of spare air defense missiles to give Ukraine, and the focus shifting to Asia, the Russian Air Force may even make a big comeback.

The new TKB-1055 counter unmanned systems (C-UAS) missiles have been in action since at least July 21st 2025, when debris was spotted within Russia itself from defending against Ukrainian drone attacks. They can be quad packed per launch tube, have an altitude ceiling of 5000m and a maximum range of 7000m. Maximum velocity is 820m/s, the missile features no guidance module itself, it uses radio command guidance from the Pantsir system.

To be honest it’s difficult to measure the battlefield impact of such, they’ve only been in use for just over a month, and Ukraine has conducted several successful drone strikes in that time period. But it’s hard to use that to say that Pantsir is ineffective in this role, Ukraine could be launching hundreds of drones a night and Pantsir is shooting down the majority of them, with only a few getting through. These new rockets are for countering one way attack drones and in some cases low flying cruise missiles. The reason for their development is that the gun on the Pantsir, which was originally supposed to do this, is not accurate enough for this task. The TKB-1055s will at least provide a vastly increased magazine capacity, which is in line with the philosophy of the Pantsir, quantity and low cost.

Personally I’d think that something like the proposed Russian Ugroza rocket conversion kits would be more practical than another Pantsir upgrade. These were initially displayed in 1999, and can be seen as a Russian equivalent to the USA’s APKWS system. They convert unguided S-5, S-8 and S-13 rockets into laser guided rockets, using thrusters on the side of the conversion kit (covered by small wood covers in the photo) for maneuverability.

I’d say that they’d be more practical because not only does Russia have millions of S series rockets from Soviet stockpiles, they can be air launched in addition to ground launch, you can put dozens of these on a Russian attack helicopter or fighter aircraft for aerial interdiction. Right now Russia relies on their attack helicopters to interdict one way attack drones using air launched Igla missiles and the cannons. An attack helicopter can go from carrying a handful of Iglas to dozens of these. Russia can dedicate a single squadron of fighter aircraft for interdiction of one way attack drones and cruise missiles and take out hundreds of them. APKWS has been a big success for the USA, the concept is proven to work. Given that the original proposal was from 26 years ago, I really think Russia should look into this again.

Could have been a limited test run, or from the very first upgraded systems.

The problem with converting old rockets to missiles is that you will eventually run out of them. Russia has already been heavily using rockets in their original role, launched from helicopters or CAS jets, so they may not have massive stocks sitting unused. This new missile could be intended as a long term purpose-built solution with dedicated mass production lines.

Brazil ignores ambassador nomination, and Israel ‘downgrades’ relations with Brazil; ‘They humiliated our ambassador there,’ says Celso Amorim (Special Advisor of Lula).

Israel said it was withdrawing its nomination of Gali Dagan to serve in Brasilia and that it will not appoint a new name for the position. A statement from the Israeli Foreign Ministry reaffirms that President Lula has been considered ‘persona non grata’ by the country since 2024.

Israel reported that it had withdrawn Dagan’s nomination and added that it would not submit a new name to the Foreign Ministry, stating that relations with Brazil would be conducted “at a lower level” diplomatically.

Relations between the two countries have been strained since early last year, when Lula criticized Israel’s offensive in the Gaza Strip following the attacks of October 7, 2023.

By comparing Israel’s response to Hamas attacks with what Adolf Hitler did to the Jews in the last century, Lula angered Israeli officials. At the time, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Brazilian had crossed the “red line.”

Israel Katz (Minister of Defense): “When Brazilian President Lula @LulaOficial disrespected the memory of the Holocaust during my tenure as Foreign Minister, I declared him persona non grata in Israel until he apologized.”

“Now he has revealed his true colors as an avowed anti-Semite and supporter of Hamas by withdrawing Brazil from the IHRA—the international body created to combat anti-Semitism and hatred against Israel—placing the country alongside regimes such as Iran, which openly denies the Holocaust and threatens to destroy the State of Israel.”

“As Israel’s Defense Minister, I affirm: we will know how to defend ourselves against the axis of evil of radical Islam, even without the help of Lula and his allies. Shame on the wonderful Brazilian people and Israel’s many friends in Brazil that this is their president. Better days are yet to come for the relationship between our countries.”

I continue to be puzzled by the inherent anti-semitism within zionism… This truism, according to zionists, that Jewish people cannot safely co-exist with other people in any society around the world. It’s the self-hating, self-defeating view of oneself that one hides behind narcissism.

I’ve seen countless comments (a majoriy of which are from non-Jewish people) that normalize this position… Like, lib-left or conservative zionists who claim to stand up for Jews and against antisemitism by insisting that “Jews cannot be safe here, so they need to go back to where they came from”. Of course, nevermind that these people do nothing to make Jewish people safer in their communities, and nevermind that they continue to insist that Jewish faith/identity is inseparable from the zionist nazi regime and its daily livestreams of crimes against humanity. Their ideal way of stopping anti-semitism is to move Jewish people out of site out of mind…

If this is the extent of your evidence for what you called “actual antisemitism”, then you have to prove two things: how the number of white guys saying “blood and soil” is linked to the zionist cancer accusing the planet of being antisemitic for opposing the extermination of Palestinians and that these white guys drive Jews who weren’t already zionists to becoming zionists.

Furthermore “opposition to antisemitism” is historically and presently a weapon against colonized people everywhere by militarized police and the child-killing iof.

the actual antisemitism is what happens at an increased rate in step 3. there’s a split in the nazi camp where some want an example of an ethnostate and some who are just exterminationist.

the zionists want their own persecution to happen because of 4. that’s why Katz calls Lula antisemitic.

Washington Seeks to Develop a New Strategy in the Sahel:

    • In recent days, the US has re-engaged in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger under the motto “trade, not aid.”

    • Senior American officials have paid successive visits to Bamako, Ouagadougou, and Niamey.

    • This approach emphasizes providing logistical and operational support against militant groups, while also exploring access to mineral resources.

Unsurprising. The power struggle in West Africa is best understood as inter-imperialist competition between the French and the US, with other interests playing smaller roles (Russia and Algeria most prominently).
