      Bad take, honestly.

It says you have the right to a job; therefore if you want one, you should be able to get one.

Americans have the right to bear arms, not everyone is walking around strapped. It’s just not the case… And yes, there’s many that do carry a firearm when they’re out and about doing normal daily tasks, but it most certainly isn’t everyone. You have the right to do it, you are not forced to do a thing you have the right to do.

Equating the right to a job with a claim that jobs are necessary is simply false.

What a stupid statement. Yeah, in an ideal fantasy world, we wouldn’t have to work and robots and shit would do everything for us. However… we do not live in that world and people need access to a good paying jobs.

The problem is that those greedy corporate motherfuckers pay slave wages and abuse the people and legal system to pay as little as possible for 100% of you time and life.

Get real and vote for those who support gainful employment.

I agree, somewhat. Maybe we could rewrite it to say “everyone is entitled to a good living” or something like that. Not an extravagant or poor living. A good one with positive camber by default

Define “need.” Various luxuries are still valuable to people. You don’t “need” the server that this Lemmy instance is running on, or the data center it’s running in, or the power for that data center, or the energy sources for that power station. Well, the power gets into need territory, but you get the idea

When AI replace human workers, sure we don’t have to work. But in the current paradigm, everyone needs to work (except of course if one has disability that makes them impaired for full time work). Otherwise, don’t be a stereotype who support leftism just to find excuse not to work lol.
