I think they mean the nature and true goal of higher education is not to educate, but is singularly profit and make more and more profit each and every semester. Profit above all else but hopefully, but not nessecary whatsoever, an institution’s shamefully underpaid and overworked staff has the time or energy to properly teach the next generation their area of expertise.

Higher education wants $$$ and they know the government and private corporations will issue about any 18 year old kid, fresh out of high school who has been pressued their entire childhood to either go to college or be a homeless prostitute, massive and insanely high interest “loans”

It’s to take from you and burden you with debt that can’t be undone, even in the event of personal bankruptcy. Why would this system give money away when they can loan it out for an abusive & permanent high interest loan that would make even a gambling addict blush?

The top left looks like a young Mos Def. This album came out in 1994 and his first album came out in 1997. BUT in 95’, he was in this group that did an album called “Manifest Destiny.” So the dates line up kinda.

*Edit: After a bit of research, Mos Def’s 1st album came out in 97, not 99.

I remember in the early-mid 90’s going to pizza hut with my family to cash in one of those sweet book club free pizza stamps and the smoking section always being packed with other families. The other kids would be playing and having a fun time while all the adults enjoyed their refreshing delicious cigarettes while everyone ate. There was no real, “smoking or non-smoking” section. It’s was a smoke filled restaurant with the option to sit shoulder to shoulder with someone smoking a cig or being a few feet away from said smokers.

The deal was switched to a subscription based model.

Homeboy signed that thang with, “I am the LORD,” too. I’m not a Christian but if I were, I’d understand that there’s no two ways about whats being demandad and evern required as a follower of the Christian faith from numerous uno, the Don himself, in plane black and white.

I feel and live this way without such demands from the centerpiece of a religion and it’s the easiest and best way to live. Life is so messy and brutally hard sometimes and the last thing any of us need is having to haul around a worthless 200lb sack of hate over our shoulder every step we take. There’s only one example I can think of where this isnt the case. I don’t remember the whole story but I saw a YT video about this kid who got arrested for hacking Rockstar games. He ended up getting arrested and while in federal custody in some hotel room, he successfully hacked them again with a fucking amazon fire stick. After that he told the judge that we had no intention of stopping. Being under the age of 18, I don’t think he really had any harsh consequences but good for him, that legend.
