Everywhere you go it’s all AI I hate it so much.

On Reddit it’s all bots reposting stuff from years ago and its all the same unfunny shit. Also it’s not like it’s a repost once and do it again years later I’ll sometimes see the same posts get reposted weekly.

These reposts are all on the top page page to wanna know why? Because AI is upvoting it and commenting on it. It’s all one massive AI circle jerk.

I’ll check the comments and it’s AI arguing with AI or worse people arguing with AI or it’s people using an AI to check if the post is a reposting fuck offfffffff.

On YouTube it’s either a full AI script with an AI voice or a real people reading off some bullshit script that I’m convinced was written by AI.

“Why [insert topic] was/is so popular” “Why [insert topic] failed/is failing”

You’ll go into the comments of these videos and it’s all fucking AI istg I’m about to crash out writing this rant it pisses me off so much.

Maybe it isn’t AI but it feels like it and I hate it! I’ve been marking these videos as “not interested” but YouTubes dumbass AI algorithm can’t take a hint because 20 more similar videos will start getting recommended it’s like cockroaches.

Even the YouTube ads are just AI gooner bait bullshit my little sister unwillingly sees that shit daily when all she wants to do is watch a drawing tutorial or a cartoon.

I don’t use TikTok or Instagram and the rest of the slop there is like Twitter but I just know those places are the garbage dump of the internet. More than half the accounts are just AI, basically my Reddit rant but amplified 10x I won’t go further into those websites.

If I Google or even DuckDuckGo something the first result is fucking an AI answer and sometimes it’ll link me to an article or video made by a fucking AI usually trying to sell me something instead of giving me what I’m looking for.

I run a website and even there in my fucking comments an AI is advertising.

I’ll open up Apple music and I don’t even know if the music it recommends me is made my an AI.

On amazon there are AI books being sold and they aren’t even trying to hide it and I mean real books not audio book but real you can hold it in your hand books who is the idiot buying that shit because someone obviously is since they keep making them???

Even video games aren’t safe the fucking Playstation store is full of AI slop games. Same question whose buying this shit?

Don’t get me started on students. I’m being hypocritical because if ChatGPT was around when I was in school I would’ve done the same but that doesn’t change the fact AI is making the modern student dumber. Most of them who use AI aren’t learning anything they just have AI spit out inaccurate information. Even if the student isn’t making the AI write there paper for them but actually tries using it as a tool to help them with their education it still spits out inaccurate information and how is the student even suppose to know if it’s accurate or not since they are currently learning about the topic. I feel bad for teachers having to rot their brains away reading AI slop.

It’s literally everywhere you can’t escape it and it’s not even useful, it’s harmful and it’s probably slowing down the internet for all of us.

AI is one of the biggest inefficiencies in human history I’m convinced I have no proof but it doesn’t take a genius to see that. People are in coal mines ruining themselves so some fucking porn bot can comment OF advertisement. AI isn’t only taking needed resources from the poorest people but from all of us. Except the people who can afford it.

I can’t wait for AI to fuck off and die so we can start progressing again. Seriously humans made one of the most impressive pieces of code ever written and it resulted in the pollution of the internet. The biggest source of information polluted with harmful useless garbage. Humans managed to pollute something that doesn’t even exist in the real world.

Even if people didn’t abuse it and used it for it’s intended purpose AI is stupid.

These companies include “ai isn’t accurate” or something along the lines of that on their website.

But if it isn’t accurate whats the point of anyone using it since after it gives me false information I’ll go Google the answer or ask for an answer on a forum?

If it’s not accurate whats the point of it being at the top of my search result??

AI doesn’t need to be there at all if I have to look for the answer to my question elsewhere.

So people use a bunch of electricity just for a non accurate answer then use more electricity to look up the answer elsewhere.

You ever try to figure out which Pokemon was the first ever designed or which was the first ever in lore?

You can get a complete answer to this with a simple question from AI services. Otherwise you’re the one wading through esoteric nerd posts and ads on five different forums for probably about 5-10 minutes. Most of them now list references along with their answers and if they didn’t, you can request them to check the answers. You can then have a followup question, like who designed the first Pokemon or whether the game objectives ever changed from the original concept.

AI services can easily summarize and synthesize this information for you. The issue is that people abuse this to plagiarize and not use their own brains to review and verify any of this information.

As for genAI, it also has its legitimate uses for generating placeholders, templates, and the scaffolding for your or others’ art. The tools are great ways for people to get started on their creative journeys, but most people just think it’s for generating the finished product, which is not.

You cannot trust the information AI gives you because the chance of it being inaccurate is high even for basic questions.

Most of them now list references along with their answers and if they didn’t, you can request them to check the answers. You can then have a followup question

If I have to go around the places it linked and check the data myself because I’m so use to the AI lying to me whats the difference from just manually looking up the answer?

As for genAI, it also has its legitimate uses for generating placeholders, templates, and the scaffolding for your or others’ art.

Is that worth all the power usage? Can you not create your own art template like people have been doing for decades?

If it’s not accurate, what’s the point of it being at the top of my search results?

Imagine this scenario. You are like… 6 years old and you decide you want (or your parents send you) to play an instrument, let’s say the guitar.

You just started it, had a few lessons already with your teacher, and soon it’s Christmas, so the music school where you learn to play guitar has a Christmas event where all their students play something for an audience, as a small concert.

So, you have been playing the guitar for half or even one year now. And you know what? Objectively speaking, you are a terrible guitar player. Obviously, since you just started to learn that goddamn thing. But of course, you are just 7 years old now and you are cute with a large 4/4 guitar in your hands, and your mother loves every second of it, and it’s wholesome… but there will be people in that audience who would do just anything to not listen to that, because they don’t care that it’s you, or that you are 7 or just playing guitar for less than one year.

So if you play like shit, what’s the point of playing in a concert or even playing the guitar in the first place?

And it can be worse; let’s say your music school was sponsored by Coca-Cola, and now all their advertisements for the following few years will include you, or guitar players just like you, in their ads. Everyone has to listen to it at least once a day who watches TV, and their favorite channel has those ads. They are here for some Family Guy, but still have to listen to some kids struggling on their guitars for 40 seconds just to be reminded that Coca-Cola is a thing.

But what they don’t know is that since you continued to play the guitar, go to lessons, maybe study some solfege, practice, and play in concerts and competitions, after some time, you could become a decent guitarist. Not necessarily the best, but a decent one. Maybe you could base a career on playing the guitar. Who knows?

(Note: I have absolutely nothing against kids learning to play the guitar. That’s a badass thing.)

In this scenario the child is learning based off real updated information directly from the teacher.

When an AI is training it’ll take any information even inaccurate or outdated information and it doesn’t know that after it’s done training it’ll spit that outdated inaccurate information back at you.

          See the differences?

When the child is at his school concert yes he is terrible but the people who went to that concert went there willingly most likely knowing it’s going to suck because it’s a school that teaches kids to play guitar and the kid doesn’t put strain on the power grid when he does it.

When I Google something I unwillingly am shown a stupid AI generated prompt with inaccurate information which does put strain on the power grid.

And it can be worse; let’s say your music school was sponsored by Coca-Cola, and now all their advertisements for the following few years will include you, or guitar players just like you, in their ads. Everyone has to listen to it at least once a day who watches TV, and their favorite channel has those ads. Not necessarily the best, but a decent one. Maybe you could base a career on playing the guitar. Who knows?

When you say this I assume you are talking about AI generated slop?

The kid got better with time and skill and everyone can look at that and be impressed because they can’t easily do it.

When I see AI slop no matter how it looks I don’t care if it’s 1:1 to real life a human didn’t make that.

I don’t want to watch a movie from an AI because it didn’t take skill or time to create it and anyone can make a similar copy.

Whenever I see an animated music video it makes me want to cry because there was real thoughts, emotions, time and skill put into the work and the result is beautiful.

Now lets say an AI generated a song and an animated music video for it would it feel the same? Would you still care since you can make a basically identical result in a few minutes?

This analogy doesn’t really work. The point of going to a child’s concert isn’t to hear good music, it’s to celebrate and encourage the child for attempting to learn something new. Nobody in that audience is relying on the musical accuracy of the children.

A better analogy would be a professional orchestra that fires half its members and replaces them with inexperienced children. The orchestra mentions this change to no one, but continues selling tickets for $200. The audience rightly expects to hear accurate, professional music, because that’s what was advertised. But what they get instead is the quality of an elementary school concert.

People make shit up too because they’re lazy, ignorant, stupid, malicious, or misinformed. At least with AI you can tell it to cite its sources and it’ll have them. If you hate AI because it hallucinates, one can easily extend this reasoning to suggest you hate people too.
