Usually a (competent) doctor knows you physically through examinations. It’s very personalized so I can see the justification
I live in a country with multiple problems right now, but I’ve grown to be aware that the more I actively look at negative commentary on the current situation (most are online given anonymity), the more I get into panic mode, which clouds my longterm thinking of trying to get into a better situation (whether it’s self-soothing, changing state policies by any measure, relocation, etc)

His Dark Materials was like this. The Golden Compass was poorly reviewed, and I’m glad that the TV series were made.
I like how many of the users don’t resort to memes or namecalling (not that there aren’t a few here and there) and the replies are straightforward
Have you tried cross-posting? It posts the same thing to multiple communities without making duplicates on the front page
I guess, but at the same time, I don’t think red necessarily means luck in India based on the sources that I’ve read.
This could be a good starting point. It seems that in China, red represents fire, and fire back then was like electricity today. As for India, I’ve found this article which says that red symbolizes the Hindu goddess Durga for her feminine power and new beginnings (which may or may not be because of menstrual or postpartum bleeding)
Speaking of single speaker audiobooks with multiple characters, I listened to an audiobook by Raza Jaffrey: The Stone Song. The characters were well acted, in my opinion. Some characters are kids, men, women, even an alien or two. But it’s easy to distinguish them. And the thing is, he didn’t even have to adjust his pitch. Goes to show how you need a specific skill if you want to do single speaker audiobooks with multiple characters right. Then again I am biased in a way that this is one of the first audiobooks I’ve ever listened to.
Elevenlabs Projects seem to make them possible now.
As for AI voices, it doesn’t quite match real life voices yet. I think what’s more feasible is to get an above average actor with a decent budget, then mask the voice with programs like RVC.
Virtually everyone in my country uses WhatsApp. I’m essentially living off-grid if I don’t use it.
Given how Japan seems to embrace AI and robots more than any other nation, it makes me wonder if Japan may inevitably have a significant portion of the population comprised of robots.
There’s a book that helps describe colors to people who have never experienced color. It’s called The Black Book of Colors, and it incorporates a synesthesia-like experience to describe them.
Same with me. Even when the room was brightly lit I would get anxious and would ask a parent to sleep with me just because I was alone, not being able to sleep.
Technically the truth
Especially when you have a short stature
For one, unlike most mammals, humans don’t have fur that can keep them warm
I see that you have a good point. I guess high quality innovation and art in general can be quite hard to get by regardless of economic system, at least back then. Who knows if we can invent a new system that can maximize the quality of products that require creative skill, something that can only be done if you have the freedom but at the same time not starving.
(East) Asians are the most accepted race aside from white people. Not that racism against them doesn’t exist, but it seems that white people naturally gravitate towards them compared to other races
