Secretary of State Antony Blinken says the U.S. has determined that an Israeli military unit committed grave human-rights abuses against Palestinians in the West Bank before the war in Gaza.

The U.S. declaration concerns a single Israeli unit and its actions against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank before Israel’s war with Hamas in Gaza began in October. While the unit is not identified in Blinken’s letter, it is believed to be the Netzah Yehuda, which has historically been based in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

    Ah. These guys. Again.

If it’s even a threat if using the bully pulpit, I’m in support of it. Stretch your arms Theoden 👑, your fingers would remember their old strength better — if they grasped your sword.

If Biden actually tanks the choke chain meaningfully on Israel, he’s still got a shot at turning shop.

He should have vetoed the Israel aid bill.

He don’t. They’re talking about “blocking” weapons from one group. Which is a joke. Once they’re delivered to the IDF, there’s zero way to enforce that in the real world,

He couldn’t have vetoed it without vetoing Ukraine aid, Taiwan aid, and Palestinian aid too, fyi. While the house passed it as 4 separate bills, the senate combined it all into one.

They were 4 separate bills. 4 separate laws. With 4 separate votes in both houses.

It would have been unusual, given the horse trading. But I’m pretty sure he could have.

This isn’t even related to Gaza.

        No one said it was.

Kind of a safe assumption though, considering the news these days.
