not a very good way to run a business…
Schleimer said the event’s “financial profile” resulted in a roughly $30 million loss, which the company “anticipated” beforehand. UFC spent about $60 million in production costs for the event.
Go fash, lose cash, you fucking morons.
TKO partially cited the lack of revenue via ticket sales from UFC Freedom 250 for that decline. UFC did not sell tickets to the general public for the event, instead hosting roughly 4,000 Trump administration officials, members of Congress, business executives and military servicemembers and staging the fights in an octagon on the south lawn of White House
“The decrease in live events and hospitality revenue was due to a decrease in ticket sales revenue, which was largely driven by the absence of ticket sales for UFC Freedom 250 and one fewer Numbered Event, partially offset by higher financial incentive package revenue, compared to the prior year period,” the report stated.
…
Mark Shapiro, the president and chief operating officer of TKO, said the Freedom 250 event generated more than $1 billion in “earned media value,” which he claimed was the “kind of exposure only a handful of events in the world” can command.“
It also deepened our commercial relationships, adding 25 new marketing partners to our roster — many signing multi-year or multi-event deals,” Shapiro said of the event, which he noted “delivered results as designed.”
Overall, TKO reported $303.9 million in net income during the second quarter, an increase of $30.8 million from quarter two of 2025
I don’t know anybody that even watched that nonsense. Or at least not anyone that admits it.
My neighbor did, he bootlegged it though, so UFC didn’t see a dime. I was invited, but even knowing that they weren’t making money, I had no desire to watch it.
Sounds like Hollywood and/or record label accounting to save on paying fighters and taxes
But their god king requires entertainment. Feed the don.
Serves them right
They bribed Trump for favors for 30M
This story is a nothingburger
Schleimer said the event’s “financial profile” resulted in a roughly $30 million loss, which the company “anticipated” beforehand.
I promise the company isn’t throwing away money for the fun of it. There are lots of different ways to look at profit. I’d bet a lot of that money found its way into the President’s pockets.
Just like Amazon “lost” $5M on the Smelania doc.
As a tangent, fuck articles that have videos pinned at the top about a completely different subject.
unless it’s that one video with the cardboard bear
There are lots of different ways to look at profit.
They claim “exposure” and “new marketing opportunities”.
I think they are just (literally) kissing the ring and getting in on the corruption train before it crashes.
Ofc. If Trump did something it’s because it lined his pockets. He doesn’t have any other motivation. I’m sure nobody involved actually lost any money and it just looks that way because of the way they do their accounting.
He doesn’t have any other motivation.
Of course he does: vanity.
Losses are easy to anticipate when they’re being used as a bribe. That’s kind of how the whole monetary transaction thing works
“which they expected”. Then they didn’t lose anything, they spent it.
wasn’t it a birthday party for the grifter-in-chief?
It was a marketing expense, but they were only marketing to one imbecile. It will be deducted from corporate profits.
And as usual, any extra expenses coming from the UFC will just work out to less revenue for the fighters in the end, who have already been chronically underpaid for years.
Sucking up is getting more expensive…
Good. There shouldn’t be any profit for something as horrific as this that was done on taxpayer dollar. F ‘em.
It wasnt to make money, it was to make trump happy…
And don’t forget a company showing a loss equals a tax break.
Lots of times the people make a shit ton of money, but the company loses money, often because of how much it paid high level employees.
Kind of like how a “non profit” just has to pay the CEO millions and throw a bunch of fundraisers so that the organization makes no money. Which is why trump is barred from running non profits
Its a safe assumption the event intentionally “lost” money
Ha ha!
I wonder if the exposure was worth it. And was it good or bad exposure?
Probably not about exposure. They spent $30M on goodwill from Trump. Some of it was probably funneled to him as well.
