    fascinating lore, guy wrote some of the earliest “For Dummies” books apparently

      Apparently he wrote “Running For Local Office For Dummies.” Guess he was right, he was a city councilman before this as well

      I really enjoyed his “C for Dummies” back in the day. While the tech aspect was obsolescing rapidly (mid-90s, before Linux/gcc took over, so it had to provide distinct guidance for Borland vs Microsoft compilers) the writing style was entertaining. The sample programme was “Goodbye, cruel world” instead of the universal “Hello Wprld”. If he can be that witty on demand, maybe he can play at politics too.
