This is dangerously close to slop / advice animals tier memeing but it is also meant sincerely, as the only moment of not suffering I have had so far today was when drinking some really nice looseleaf assam tea steeped to a strength (to Hell and back) that has historically made professional tea snobs complain that I’m ruining the delicate flavors and blah blah blah, if tea flavor is good then MORE tea flavor is even better gigachad

Unfortunately if I make more and keep drinking it all night I will stay awake all night and keep suffering, whereas if I go to sleep …

grim

I can have a reprieve? A foolish thought! Alas, sleep offers no safety either, for I spent all of last night tormented by nightmares about being emotionally and psychologically abused by the worst ex

in light of which maybe staying awake all night isn’t a terrible idea. More assam tea it is!

edgy

The “alhamdulillah” is ironic; I’d gladly convert back to Islam if the world weren’t full of injustice, but since everything keeps getting worse rather than better I can’t believe in a benevolent god

Anyway, good quality non-Brtsh[1] fair trade looseleaf is expensive up front but I’ve had this bag for a long time and am still not through with it because it’s so strong I don’t have to use much and if I don’t oversteep it it holds up well for a 2nd steep. It’s probably still more expensive than bagged assam per cup, but it’s also some of the tastiest tea I’ve ever had so I’m fine paying more cents per cup.

[Footnote 1] I’m engaging in a one-cuttlefish BDS operation against Brtsh branded tea until they admit on their labels/boxes that they stole it from India

  • Preach. Tea and Coffee are some of the only hyper-colonial goods on which I spend as much money as I can reasonably afford. I love a good, malty, tannic and almost sweet assam — especially in the summer when brewed cold.

Coffee, it seems, will not fare as well as tea in the impending climate apocalypse, so I’m really treasuring the good stuff now. Pro-tip: vacuum seal some of the good shit in whole-bean single-servings and stash it in your freezer. Shit will stay fresh for years that way. Don’t know if it works the same for tea, though :(
