A Canadian amusement park is threatening to euthanise 30 beluga whales after the government blocked its request to send them to China.

The park is said to have told ministers that it was in a “critical financial state” and unable to provide adequate care for the whales

animals born in capitivity often cant survive in the wild, and plus theres also potential inbreeding that they dont want to introduce into a wild population. they dont have the same survival skills as a wild cetecean. thats why there so many tigers in capitivity, they were inbred

But it’s not really a chance at life and cruel. Starving to death is not a nice way to go. And I can’t believe people are suggesting it. As good as people feel about releasing the whales the survival rate is not good.

Is that a problem to stop hand feeding them and just release a fish into the pool they live in? Basic hunting shouldn’t be that difficult to learn especially in safety and when you’re hungry.

        Can’t comment about genetics though.
