A judge has tossed President Trump's $15 billion defamation lawsuit against The New York Times and Penguin Random House, and gave Trump's lawyers 28 days to refile.
As every lawyer knows (or is presumed to know), a complaint is not a pub-
lic forum for vituperation and invective — not a protected platform to rage against an
adversary. A complaint is not a megaphone for public relations or a podium for a
passionate oration at a political rally or the functional equivalent of the Hyde Park
Speakers’ Corner.
The whole order is a deadpan roast of the sheer incompetence and insanity of the legal case that was filed in by Trump’s legal team. It really looks like Trump told them to write down the complain as he rambled it and to send it as is.
