    It’s already a propaganda mill.

You mean the propaganda mill is being bought for another group’s propaganda machine.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think Liberals would be the luddites while Conservatives are bracing the tech era and using it well.

    Fuck.

Yeah crazy world where the liberals don’t want to capture the social media industry with massive amounts of corruption. Why can’t my team be as corrupt as their team…

I know they should just give up all pretense of morality and lawfulness and just go full conservative!

So you agree they should go full conservative levels of corruption to win? This would be fulfilling the both sides fantasy of every conservative propagandist btw.

I think you are missing the point here as well. Using conservative propaganda against progressives is kind of pointless.

Never said go their levels but seriously…

Letting them use digital propaganda to set the narrative while we still chant that tired ass line, “when they go low, we go high?”

              Fair enough, and I agree.

On a side note, the whole virtue signaling thing was invented by conservative propagandists. Like everything with them it is pure projection as they have always been the biggest virtue signalers with their family values and church values nonsense.

We can see with this latest episode with Kirk just how ridiculous of virtue signalers they are. You should only be using this term to throw it back in their faces.

Using it on progressives is basically unnecessarily internalizing their BS message. At least that is how I look at it.

Progressives actually care when that term is used. Conservatives just latch to the next thing Progressives say just to bastardize it since they lack creativity outside of cruelty.

They have done this to so much of our lexicon and it really is ridiculous. Whenever someone randomly brings up some high level academic thought experiment like woke, cultural appropriation, or systemic racism you know you are in for a big dose of dumb.

Musk (formerly richest man in the world) bought Twitter

Ellison (current richest man in the world) buys TikTok.

Both of these fascists see the value of controlling social media.

And unlike Musk who at least had a period of “liberal darling because he shut his fucking mouth and probably had a pr team” Ellison has always been widely characterized as an abusive, controlling, tantrum throwing piece of shit

It’s too bad that so many of the younger generations seem to think that they cannot learn from older generations and that being “tech savvy” means being loyal to the right brand of siren servers. I mean, imagine thinking that you know more than others about “tech” because you are familiar with the currently popular siren server in which you are the product. It’s so jaw-droppingly stupid, but I hear/see this kind of sentiment all the time. A fucking monkey could learn how to use something like TikTok; it was designed to be something any idiot could use.

I mean, FFS, it was bad enough when certain types of low-tech people first got on the 'net and thought that because the branding they saw were things like AOL (for their ISP) and MS (for their OS and their browser) that those were the leading lights of the 'net and that they should look to brands like that for how things were supposed to work. You’d hear that kind of thing from idiots all throughout the 90s, honestly - “what does Bill think about X in relation to the net?”, when the reality is that MS was caught rather flat-footed and was wildly trying to catch up. Same for AOL, which just basically was buying up lots of ISPs because people just needed a bridge to the 'net and didn’t GAF about the pipe so much.

Now, you have to know even LESS about computers to get online and people seemingly have even less awareness of notions of trying to host something themselves and forge a path to more privacy and more freedom - it’s all about branding, and everything is just assumed to be “in the cloud”, most especially if you use only or primarily a phone/tablet because those things are mostly designed to remove the general computing aspect out of the equation (and thus your power).

    Sigh.

What people don’t seem to get is that these platforms don’t have any secret sauce. Tiktok could be cloned by a team of students in a few weeks.

The platform isn’t actually valuable. It’s the user base.

I can’t wait for 100% of all media to be Reich wing bullshit and hear them all still decry the MSM “liberal media” …

All media will be right wingers and they’ll still act like they’re practically non existent among a sea of “leftist media.”

Didn’t stop them in the decades even before the rise of the 'net allowing commerce.

You basically had three stations on TV, all of them owned by MNCs. You had PBS, most of it underwritten by big corps, and wiser boomers would call it Petroleum Broadcast System because of this.

Even still, the John Birch Society types - in other words, most Republicans and conservatives - would talk about the “liberal media”.

I mean, what the actual fuck.

I’ve said a thousand times before Democrats pave the way for Republican crimes against us. Biden following through to with first term Trump’s promise to ban Tiktok, instead of protecting our free speech, lead to where we are now.
