Ok, so I think this is a pretty inflammatory take. As a visible minority, I find being called “a non-white” a little dehumanizing. Despite acting like an ally, you’re diminishing a group’s (one that you may belong to or not) sense of agency.
I think the world would be more interesting if there wasn’t a single standard for formal wear. But I’m not going to berate or diminish anyone for choosing to wear a certain style of clothes.
