Good. I’m so proud of my Colorado.

Do an end-run around the crazy bobby brainworm and his ilk.

We need sensible and common-sense policy here in Colorado. Fuck Taco and all the brainless “maga” morons he puts into power.

I’ll be happier when I can get a covid vaccine without a prescription or a drive to Wyoming. Hopefully that happens soon, but even then we have a governor who was giddy at the prospect of RFK being nominated for HHS and didn’t even try to walk it back when recently asked about it. I used to like Polis but now I am so glad he’s term-limited.

Yeah, 100%, though I think the point of this effort is to find guidance from a reality-based outfit now that the CDC has been corrupted by conservative bullshit. Meaning - I hope - that Colorado would then not require prescriptions to get a vaccine we’ve had access to for years now, therefore foiling the anti-vaxxer schemes and plotting of Bobby Brainworm and pals.

Also, when it comes to Polis - he’s always been slightly sus on certain things. He is, after all, a libertarian (even if there is lots of “no true Libertarian” stuff from the usual suspects) and at times he can be frustrating to progressives. I mean, compared to ridiculous unhinged right wing conservatives he seems okay.

But I hope he can be replaced with something more conducive to what this state needs…

You know, if you push this logic to its logical conclusion, you should also go around FEMA, federal education, federal SS paramilitary disguised as immigration officers, illegal federal taxes disguised as emergency tariffs…

And when your state has enough federal nonsense to go around, it might want to defederate entirely, and that’s called secession.

Your state of Colorado might not be big enough to amount to much on its own in the world, but larger states like California, with the GDP of large nations, really should consider it. Because while the federal ship is still afloat, the entire deck and rigging are on fire at this point.

The point is to erode trust in institutions. It destroys democracy. So there really is no win here unless these are reversed if we ever return to a democracy.

Okay and? If people respect and trust state level institutions while federal institutions are reviled id consider that a win at this point. It’s probably easier and faster just to rip the US apart and start working on a series of new systems, personally I’m rather fond of a North American Union that stretches from the Darien Gap to the Arctic circle.

I’m curious as well. And while I applaud the (hopefully short-term) end-run around an institution that has been poisoned by conservatives, I hope we can return to norms one day.

The short-term effort is needed because the alternative is lots and lots of people dying needlessly.
