The senate is 53 Republican to 45 Democrat and 2 Independent. Requires 60 to Remove.

The articles also have to pass the house which is 219R to 215D.

Can’t be filibustered, and as was the case with Pete Hegseth even if every Dem said NO and even 3 Republicans said NO they still had enough votes to appoint them.

It was kind of a “choosing the devil you know” situation.

Optics matter, regardless of how much it helps. Why do you think Elizabeth Warren is doing this stunt? How much difference do you think it made? When Dems vote with Republicans after all the heinous shit they’ve shown this year, they are failing to stand for their principles. OTOH, if Warren didn’t do this stunt, no one would actually complain or criticise her.

So you think all Democrats are compromised and that Warren should be criticized for speaking out against Trump?

You don’t exactly have the optics of the resistance yourself, my dude.

If only she hadn’t participated in the backstabbing of Bernie during the 2020 primaries, we night not be here.

This is what EVERYBODY doesn’t understand: The DNC is NEVER going to select Bernie because he is NOT a Democrat. He is, and always has been, an Independant.

The presidential nomination is the highest award a party can give to a member, and they are going to give it to a loyal member who has supported the party, raised money for them, praised their actions, etc. Bernie has done none of that. He may caucus with the Dems, but he doesn’t raise money for them, and he has often been very critical of Democrats.

He’s NOT a Democrat, and there was never a time when the Democrats would give him the nomination, no matter how many votes he got in the primary. They wouldn’t give him the nomination any more that they’d give it to a Republican.

Lol whut? Bernie Sanders lost the 2020 DNC primary by 10 Million Votes, it was 19,080,074 Biden to 9,680,121 Bernie. Even if you add in Warren’s 2,831,566 votes it wouldn’t even bring Bernie close.

Arguing that the results of ratfuckery mean there was no ratfuckery is an interesting choice.

Also, there was only one active campaigning candidate when most of the country was even able to vote. Using the total of the entire election is idiotic when Biden was the only one running after the manufactured dropout scheme occurred

Listen if Bernies votes werent counted at all or if it were a really close race you might have a point but if 10 out of 35 million less people voted for your ass than the winner then you lost fair and square. Those votes are human beings who showed up and filled out a ballot.

Are you accusing Bernie Sanders of dropping out too early on purpose? He ran until April at which point the results were 62.9% to 31.7%.

    Oh no, the convict lied.

This is the dangerous part about being someone like trump. Everyone expects him to lie and fuck things up, so when he does, nobody is outraged and there are no consequences.

Also people are afraid of him. A classic bully. I was watching how he said on tv how he is a nice guy. Its amazing.

Oh, there will be consequences, count on it. Fascist regimes always collapse under the weight of their own virtuosic incompetence, because they are based on philosophy, usually seriously flawed philosophy, and not competence.

And when they collapse, the leader and his henchmen usually die very unpleasant, very violent, very deserved deaths.

For the people screaming for the Dems to do something: this is it. This is the extent of their power with the number of votes they have. If anything, we should be urging Republican lawmakers to abandon ship.

people are just pissed and venting about past inaction, is it useful? no, but I think the frustration of your country turning to fascism after Bernie’s electoral chances were sabotaged is understandable

Bernie ran in pretty successful but also lost the primaries by some pretty sizeable margins.
