President Donald Trump’s inaugural committee collected a staggering $239 million for the festivities surrounding his swearing-in this year — with some of the nation’s wealthiest people and biggest companies writing large checks as they sought to ingratiate themselves with the Republican ahead of his return to the White House.
For the inauguration, huh? Where’s the accounting of costs for this one time event? I don’t see how it would reach $240 million, and if it does, we need to fix that so we spend the bare minimum for the swearing in of a single public official.
Is it irony that Robinhood donated $2 million to this event, presumably harvested from far, far poorer people?
Of course because this pattern has been established, if even one dollar is raised for inauguration a future Democrat it will be harped on as corrupt until the end of their term.
