for some reason I had it in my head that Picasso was a fascist. I wonder who I’m thinking about.

somehow reminds me of the guy who did the FEMA-walmart and obama-resurrecting-marx cartoons, just makes you marvel at the brainpower in play

Salvador Dali also wrote that he had sex dreams about Hitler and painted Adolf straight up jorking it.

He was a sex pest creep. Was in a “relationship” with a 17-year-old when he was like 54 or some shit.

That made me reread about his relationships with women, and damn, he was an even bigger piece of shit than I remembered. Pretty much just viewed women as things to be used and threw them away when he was bored with them.

I can’t entirely confirm this is true.

As recently as the early 1970s, the mere mention of Picasso’s name was taboo in South Korea. He was subject to intensive surveillance by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation because of his artwork, and as a result his name was removed from a brand of oil pastels, while an image of “Massacre” was blacked out in copies of the book “Collection of World Art” imported from Japan.

This is the closest reference I’ve found but it’s not clear if this was a ban or a company (Sennelier?) acting independently.

Obviously the chilling effect in South Korea is as good as a ban but that doesn’t have quite the same punch for a meme.
