Not really despite having been invaded from north africa the spanish caliphate gained its independence after the fall of the Oumayads . then divided into smaller independent Emirates until the Spanish conquest.
Brazil was also independent after Portuguese royalty moved in and declared it a kingdom. It’s still considered colony.

Akchually, the map entire world was colonized by people from Africa. Since the map shows the entire world (even New Zealand), it is accurate.
