Yup, I can’t get past 5 in Norwegian.

Me neither. It was just ridiculous. When it got to the point where the floor board on the Eclipse mysteriously fell out it was just too all too much, for me. How people who know and love cars ever could think that movie was great is beyond me.
I saw one of the later movies in the cinema, since my date wanted to see it. I felt it was some of the worst goo I’d ever seen, while my date thought it was “fantastic”. I remember thinking “this isn’t going to work out…”, hehe.
Harald Fairhair would probably be amazed at the lack of bloodshed during political discussions.
A plug-in hybrid is cool, to me, in that I can charge it and use it as pure EV for my daily commutes, but if I forget/am unable to charge it it don’t have to worry for a second. And I don’t need to worry about the range on my 500km roundtrip to my cabin (full charge + full tank equals ~1100km range on my Prius).
Also, fuel consumption is relatively low, so whenever I do have to burn fuel I’m not breaking the bank.
Apparently a foldable OLED screen is, typically expected to last at least 200.000 folds. That’s more than a 100 folds/day for 5 years. I’d take my chances on one, I think.
They just know that trying to appease, or make a deal with, a country where a blabbering idiot is behind the wheel is pointless.
Like others have mentioned, those of us in the know probably don’t need much help picking alternatives here, as we’re likely to know what the options are and how they differ. For the regular Jane and Joe to even stand a chance in a pretty confusing landscape it needs to be as simple as possible to get going with an alternative, or else I fear most people will just fall back on the well known, well marketed options.
I suggested to a non-techy coworker (a Reddit user) he’d give Lemmy a shot, and when I asked him how it went a couple of days later he said he got confused during the sign up process, “what the heck is an instance, which one should I pick?”.
Nice work! Gohug, is that short for something, or does it mean what it reads, i.e. go hug the EU?
Ah, I forgot to mention that I live in Norway, and over here debit cards started taking over from check use in the 80s.
I last remember seeing my mom write one in the mid 80s. Personally I’ve never used one, and I’m pushing 50.
Add to that how most poor people in the US are in that situation because they live in a every-man-for-himself society, created and maintained by the rich because infighting among the populace keeps them from looking higher and wider to solve their problems.
I’m so sorry, I meant to say except Bernie - the man is a legend.
Seems all the doers over there are busy sending the country, and indeed the world, down the crapper.
It may well be just the picture painted by the publications I tend to read, but it’s easy to get the impression that the democrats have fallen more or less silent (Bernie excluded), while the republicans are spewing shit from mountain tops all day long. Is that how you American folks feel, too, or is it just my news sources that are failing me?
Edit: I meant to say Bernie not included!
How the heck do you clean your old carburators? /j
I never considered how devastating the collapse of the Berlin wall must’ve been to some Americans. /s
love America because it doesn’t have kings
I’m not convinced a president who can act with greater impunity than a king in any modern monarchy is better.
I read that a lot, “we don’t have a king, thank cod”. Is it because you’ve seen what a hell hole e.g. the Scandinavian countries are? /s
A king in a modern monarchy is nothing more than a representative of the country. He cuts ribbons and holds encouraging speeches on New Year’s. That’s pretty much it.
A bit off topic; a friend of mine purchased a play mat for his kid, one of those you put on the floor with a birdseye view of roads, buildings etc., from wish (yeah, expectations weren’t high to begin with). When it arrived he realized it was roughly 30 by 30 centimeters.
We went back and looked at the listing on wish, and while no dimensions were listed, the one image it had was of a kid sitting on the mat playing. That kid must’ve been less than 5 centimeters tall.
What a moronic and absolutely disgusting person she is. It’s almost hard to believe this isn’t a fictitious clip from a movie or something.
I have firsthand experience with Helle knives and I have only positive things to say. Very high quality knives, they have this… feel to them.
Yes, it’s ‘fem’ in Norwegian, too…
