  • I’m on a really low dosage of spiro (25mg/day), so that might be why I haven’t felt it as badly.

But yeah, that’s basically what I did. My doctor is actually pretty okay (didn’t mind that I didn’t have the psychiatric diagnosis that you’re “supposed” to have (not a legal requirement)), but she definitely did underdose me, and I am awful at making appointments, so I’ve just increased my own dosage of E in line with what’s actually a reasonable amount.

  • Oh, I can confirm this! I went from skipping lunch almost every day to essentially never completely full. And if I skip a meal I become basically useless. It’s great!

Also congrats on already feeling weight after 23 days! My own started aching pretty much immediately (hurt for a few days), but it’s gotten more annoying recently and I can actually feel/see 'em now (I hit 100 days exactly today actually!)

How do you feel? Did you already get the skin smoothing? That was the biggest QoL change for me

It’s (genuinely) interesting that big-time AI enthusiasts always assume that if you dislike AI, it’s because you don’t know how to use it (and not because they have different priorities or have conceptual issues with it or such). It was the same thing with crypto and NFTs.

I know a good amount of very skilled developers who tried AI several times in different contexts, and always found the tradeoffs much too bad to be worth it (in terms of accuracy, precision, cost, speed, whatever), and yet they still get “oh you just haven’t tried my favorite AI tool”.

  • I like this image :)

(What follows is a rambly half-vent tirade about my own gender)

For me a lot of my thinking ends up in “yeah I’m definitely a girl uggh that’s gonna be so annoying”. It’s not a choice and it’s a thing that requires immense amounts of effort… but everyone says it’s worth it, so I gotta drag myself along to avoid regretting it later (and it has been worth it, too). Meanwhile I’d already internalized that gender is bullshit, so I was theoretically fine with being a guy but apparently not in practice. Everything would be easier if I were a guy (or more generally cis, but it’s p hard to be a cis girl for me by now lol), but I’m not and so… incredible amounts of time energy and money it is!

Anyway the point is: I like this image, because it just… cuts through all of that. No qualifications on it, just. Yay!

  • “The transgender topic” is already weird as a statement (kinda like “the gay agenda”, it comes off as only considering it as a political statement?), and “clearly promoted by the bourgeoisie” implies it’s bad.

“As far as […] lgbt flags on government buildings”: it’s… not far at all? Again, weird statement.

“Biological male” is both wrong for the boxer (she’s cis) and generally used for transphobia (trans women on HRT aren’t biological males by any reasonable definition). It’s also generally conspiratorial.

Overall it’s not explicitly transphobic or bad to me, but it shows at minimum a very misinformed perspective.

  • But there’s no “biological” reason for that. In the same way, skirts/dresses being for women and suits/ties being for men, leg hair, haircuts, voice, mannerisms, emotional availability, all get tied one gender or another.

We, in our society, have associated some properties to one of two genders. Some of these properties tend to be associated to one sex (sex being a more “biological” thing (but still not binary or unchangeable!)), but many of them are just expectations we put upon people. This is what “gender is a social construct” means; that the general understanding and intuition about gender is constructed by the society in which we live. Different societies may have more than 2 genders or completely different sets of associations.

Unfortunately these categorizations are bad for a significant portion of the population, including trans people, gender non-confirming people, but even cishet people; how many times have you heard of some act making you “not a real man” (eg crying for a movie)?
