IDF soldiers are currently a few hundred metres from camp UN-652 where UNIFIL Irish troops are stationed.

God, that would be based if Ireland declared war on the Zionists and dragged the EU along.

unfortunately it will never happen, much more likely future is some Irish troops get killed by the Zionists and our government rolls over while it gets swept under the rug. it’s 100% happened before multiple times with UN troops in the last few decades. while Irish people are largely good on the issue our neolib govt are simply compradors to empire when push comes to shove. we haven’t even expelled the ambassador yet lol

in the early 60s, when the Congo attempted independence from western colonial powers, a private military force of Belgian and British funded mercenaries attempted to decapitate the independent government and launched a coup. the government plead for help from the UN, and Irish peacekeepers were sent. ultimately, the Irish peacekeepers were overwhelmed and taken prisoner and the entire event was memory holed by the west. there’s a movie about it. it’s fucking nuts.
