And I use “normal” in scare quotes, because, according to whom, exactly, capitalism? Society? Yourself? Some of the “weirdest” people I’ve met in my life where also some of the nicest and actually helped me out. People you’d peg as “normal”? Well I’ve had my fair share of shit with them. I’m not about to put up with some reddit lord trying to score points with cool kid podcasters by throwing people who feed the homeless under the bus, fuck you very much.

I know that what those people mean by “normal” mostly is to not alienate people within and out of your movement for pragmatic reasons but it always raised an eyebrow with me. At least from other TrueAnon redditors who uses that quote, there is always an air of cutting out the undesireables less it sabotage the movement. It also doesn’t help that many of those people also tended to usually point the issue with LGBT, the homeless, people of color and disabled folks first. Asking for them to be quiet so that the “normal” people can get things done.

A lot of them are just tailists who think we need to compromise with reactionary positions because we need the support of reactionaries. For all these types like shitting on Dems, they end up being similarly spineless and obsessed with respectability when it suits them.

A lot of them are just tailings

I realise this is either a typo or, more likely, autocorrect, but I was a designer working with mining engineers for many years and calling bad people “tailings” made me laugh.

Also consider that tailings are sometimes called “slimes”. I propose that this would also be an appropriate term for shitty podcast hosts, as in: “the Chapo trap house slimes have been becoming increasingly reactionary over the past few years and honestly I consider them to be liberals now”.

Yeah, it got autocorrected from “tailist”, but that is indeed funny.

I don’t agree with your assessment of Chapo overall, at least Will I think is still a commie even if he’s not really a good one, but Felix is certainly a slime.

I don’t listen any more and haven’t in many, many years, but before I stopped Will actually always felt like the biggest reactionary to me:) doesn’t really matter of course!

That’s fair, I don’t really have a clear idea of their trajectories, and maybe he was truly horrible at the time or maybe my memory is overly selective and he still is. You’re right that it doesn’t matter, just giving my thoughts.
