Yep. Any type of cat. Tiny kitten, untamed tiger that will probably eat me, slutty anthro furry. Don’t care, long as its a cat.

Chubby cat comes back to life and mostly just hangs out with us all again. She also whispers the secret to extremely powerful magical long range weapons.
Truly magical, a dragon because that would be really cool, they would have amazing magical powers, and we could fly around together.
More realistic magical, a crow because they are fun and intelligent and also you’d have access to the crow community.
I already have a one eyed black cat so a crow. I will name her Crogue Leader, and she will command her murder, Crogue Squadron.

A turtle! Very shelly and not in a hurry. And it being a magical animal companion it’d be a flying turtle! A cool shell-friend who is at home in land and sea and air.
