I’m a little confused about “one thing I can taste.” Assuming I am currently physically healthy and haven’t recently put anything in my mouth, I would generally say the only thing I can taste is neutrality?

I fucking hate this one. My panic attacks happen when too much is happening and I’m overwhelmed. Naming all that shit just makes it worse for me. It’s overwhelming me even more because now I gotta pay attention to random objects, AND the stuff that is overwhelming me already.
Like I get it helps some people but my personal preference is loud music so I can only focus on the music. Cuts out all that sound and people leave me alone when I’m wearing my headphones.
But honestly just leave me in a dark quiet room and that’ll work almost as well as music.
I think that’s the point: redirecting your shortcircuiting mind from the vortex of chaos by pointing out flotation devices in the form of sensory iconography… 🥲
