What’s the official punishment for treason again? Used to be summary execution way back when, but I believe we eliminated the death penalty in 1976.

Edit: Just looked it up. 25 years. Ehh, better than nothing if it could stick.

We know damn well our politicians are far too spineless to call this what it is. And i hate to say it, but with the current culture war, locking her up would make some of the right even more radical, they won’t agree its treason and fearmonger the government is coming for you next.

Paradoxically, my tolerance for what the right cares about is at an all time low. If there is a legal standing or cause to try her for treason then do so. Likewise, try any agitators who want to make an example of themselves in the wake of this appropriately.

We live in a fucking society.

I agree we shouldn’t care if some cry baby cries because someone committing treasonous acts is held accountable, but many of our politicians won’t speak up about it because it divides us and it could lose them their seat. Plus our media conglomerates would blow the story up to make more people angry (good for business in media) and divide us further, with a healthy dose of misinformation as well.
