Spain, Ireland, Slovenia, Iceland and the Netherlands have all said they would consider boycotting next year’s contest if Israel were to take part
Probably waiting to see if the ceasefire and hostage swap would help rehabilitate Israel’s image.
I thought they already violated the ceasefire… again.
The Israelis seem to pull back and allow aid to flow into Gaza. As long as those violations are smallish in nature, the ceasefire holds. Keep in mind that this is a very trigger happy military, which is still in enemy territory. It is basically impossible to retreat without shit happening.
As long as both sites leadership want that ceasefire, it is probably going to hold. It currently looks like they do.

Yeah who cares about killing 5 Palestinians for no reason.
I’m sure Israel would be ok with continuing this process had Hamas taken out 5 IDF soldiers, right? Right???
Just exercising the right to live and let live, no doubt.
Waiting for calmer waters, ain’t you?
If the war stops and they’re still banned, the war wasn’t the reason for the ban. But we already know that, don’t we?
The genocide was the reason, not the tool used to create the genocide.
So just because they’ve put the tool down doesn’t mean those murdered women and children are magically alive again. Not to mention the foreign doctors, journalists and aid workers killed.
The boycott should proceed, Israel needs to be shown in every possible way, small and large, that genocide is not accepted.
And let’s not forget they have not still faced legal repercussions
A large part of the Israeli population protested the war. Netanyahu is so unpopular he might not be in power when ESC happens. I don’t think indiscriminate punishment is the correct move here.
That’s not true, and the polls make it clear that no matter how unpopular Netanyahu is, the war is and has been popular. War protests have focused on the risk to hostages, not the wanton killing of innocents.
An overwhelming majority of Israeli Jews support the transfer of Palestinians from Gaza, according to a poll by Pennsylvania State University.
The survey, conducted in March and published by Haaretz newspaper on Thursday, found that 82 percent of Israeli Jews support the forced expulsion of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, 47 percent of Israeli Jews answered yes to the question: “Do you support the claim that the [Israeli army] in conquering an enemy city, should act in a manner similar to the way the Israelites did when they conquered Jericho under the leadership of Joshua, ie to kill all its inhabitants?” The reference is to the biblical account of the conquest of Jericho.
If all the people they killed come back alive and they’re still banned, all the killing they did wasn’t the reason for the ban.
…but they won’t come back.
You must be one of the people who believe that the reason people criticize Israel is antisemitism.
You silly goose.
