The fallout from this article is just perfect. Instead of owning this obvious fact, Democrats and democrat supporters have started attacking the author. Claiming she’s guilty of doing the same despite the obvious reality that she isn’t. At the heart of this reaction is the comparison to Republicans and the characterization of this program being underhanded and shady. It strikes at the “moral” charade put up by liberals. In their attempt to “win” they turn to the tactics of their “enemies” while ignoring and attacking the tactics of current progressive candidates and driving a wedge between themselves and the growing labor aligned progressive movement. On the one hand they want to be seen as the moral and ethical vanguard, but on the other hand they know they’re not and need to turn to these dark money astroturfing campaigns to see any motion. This is the reaction of one caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Its a pathetic and predictable set of events. This should be a signal to liberals that their ship also flys the Jolly Rodger, and that they should abandon ship. Their pride and ego will prevent them from doing so, and they will sink to the bottom of the ocean while claiming we’re the ones drowning.
literally democrats’ only argument for anything these days is that their opponents are worse. they’re incapable of judging their own party or platforms, they just figure their enemies are evil, and they’re not their enemies, so they’re good. if their enemies aren’t evil, they short circuit, like how they did a whole psyop in advance and misrepresented data to claim that people voting for leftists elected trump
There’s no way this has only been going on recently
dork money
A bunch of Chorus shills are now acting like this is “debunked” when every attack on it that I’ve seen either avoided contesting its claims or revealed the speaker to be just a fucking liar because she highlighted a clause that was inoffensive and said “see? Chorus doesn’t control anything!” when the very next clause, mostly-visible in that screenshot, mandated exactly what Chorus was accused of.
As ever, the dem response is to do whatever the republicans were doing two terms ago. This is them attempting to make a Lib tea-party movement Koch Brothers style. It worked for the Republicans, and is part of how we got Trump, because they have no qualms borrowing talking points and (the more presentable) talking-heads from the extreme right. The same cannot work for Dems. They refuse to engage with anything to the left George W Bush.
Right-wing belief is palatable to the elites. But the left? They find the left genuinely threatening.
The tea party was also astroturfed into prominence by right wing money.
And as usual the dems don’t realize the opposite of republican astroturfing isn’t democrat astroturfing it’s actual grassroots movement. Or they do realize that and they don’t want it to happen.
Gee, tough spot to be in.
Remember 2016 and all the articles like this about Republicans? Even some of our leftist podcasters were doing episodes about it.
