    Oh no. Now the mainstream grocery store offerings will mostly be Daiya etc which are American. Time to go back to making my own creations with tofu.

    Granted they’re owned by American Hain-Celestial so hopefully a truly Canadian company can grow in their place.

      Not sure where abouts you live, but Big Mountain is a brand I see in the stores here in Calgary often. Think they’re based in B.C…

      Their products have been hit or miss for me, the veggie burgers were alright, but the “bites” were something I didn’t enjoy at all, though that’s likely personal preference more than anything.

      They make plant-based sausages, though I’ve yet to give those a try.

        Thank you for this! I assumed that Daiya had been bought out by American interests since it is so readily available in the US but you are correct it is BC based and Japanese owned. I don’t like their cheese substitutes since they have that coconut oil taste but this is great info

      There is the Montreal-based company Gusta seemingly ready to swoop in with some new products, I’m cautiously hyped
