that’s not a thing. it’s a made up word coined by a youtuber in 2012 who just makes up pompous, overly specific words that never actually get used.

( like literally, the AI generated dictionary article only references the blog, and has no actual examples other than mistakenly generated proper names that happen to be Sonder)

solipsism is an actual philosophical concept dating back centuries. and for this one there’s already a number of psychological constructs we have to discuss theory of mind.

Every word is made up. The fact that, centuries ago, the word solipsism was brand new did not detract from its value.

Having personally felt the sensation that is now called sonder, i am happy that someone coined a word to describe it. Like solipsism, sonder relates to theory of mind, and now theorists in that field have a concise tool to refer to something that used to take a couple of sentences to describe.

Without neologisms, a language is dead.

it’s one thing to coin a new word that gets used.

It’s another thing to walk around acting like the word your little brother made up is common place knowledge

Sonder is a poor relation to solipsism anyway. it sounds like an adjective for a feeling whereas solipsism refers to a nominal belief. it’s just irritating

Did anyone here do that? It seems more like someone tried to teach someone something, and someone else said “NO, THAT KNOWLEDGE ISNT COMMON ENOUGH, SHUT UP”

That was two. However, the only thing i know about those words are that their opposite
