Maybe Elon does something like a “single plaintiff class action for America” lawsuit against consumers?

I’m actually a bit serious. Once Trump’s nominees are in place - Trump will control the DOJ, etc and a huge amount of crazy shit will happen at an even faster pace than these first two weeks of Trump 2.0.

the old sketch comedy from the early 90’s had this extended but about how some giant Hollywood studios optioned a coupon for buy one get one free socks into a blockbuster summer movie. and nobody gave a shit, so the studio sued all of America to recoup its costs. and won the trial, getting some old, crank judge to sentence all Americans to watch the movie.

it’s a good bit, and it’s a testament to how wack that show was 30 years ago that it still seems absurd.

but in another 10, I bet it won’t be

here’s the last half of the bit.

French government ministers late last month called for the European Commission to immediately suspend the regulation on CO2 emissions from passenger cars, warning that it could result in billions of euros going to Chinese manufacturers and Tesla, “whose CEO Elon Musk is openly attacking European regulations and values.”

    Bruh.

For a few months now I’ve been shopping for electric vehicles and the prices of used Teslas are definitely not what they used to be. You can get a used Swastikkkar for much cheaper than you used to. They don’t hold their value anymore and I find it hilarious.

They really are shitboxes, how they get the “premium” aura I have no idea.

They were never that great at holding value. I remember reading a story about that about a year ago.

Anecdotally, there’s a Tesla dealer in my area and they have an overflow lot off site for inventory. I was driving past the other day and there were seven new Cybertrucks just sitting in the lot.

I saw a dealership a few months back that had a bunch of them sitting in the lot too. With how the presales went to now I’m literally seeing them on Facebook marketplace with under 10k miles, the writing is on the wall for these things. They’re like a less collectable, less charming Delorian. At least with Delorians you might find a brick of coke under a body panel.

After your comment, I took a look on FB marketplace in my area and yeah, I’m seeing 6 for sale under 10K miles for ~$80K. These are all foundation series too. Those cost at least $120K a year ago.

I moved to a somewhat Dem area last year and was surprised at all the teslas I see. its even more wild as Elan Munk has gone explicitly pro-trump, doing Nazi salutes, and now grasping the levers of the federal payment system.

its gotta burn them up driving around in a flashy Trump-mobile.
