There was a clarification issued today. They are now stipulating that people who take the deal must leave work immediately. You can only keep working if your superiors deem you too important and authorize a transition period.
Absolutely 0% chance that they’re really going to pay people to sit at home until September. The government is only funded via continuing resolution until March. I predict any poor saps who take the deal will be cut off then.
