From a skim of wikipedia, it looks like most fish “breath” in through the mouth and out through the gills, so the cigarette would probably be in the mouth

I mean, we have both mouths and noses, but I’ve never seen anyone stick a cig in their nostrils lol

I’ve never actually smoked one so I’m definitely not the best source! I know what its like breathing it secondhand - I can’t imagine what it would smell like if you smoked it through your nose haha

im pretty sure the water goes into the mouth and out of the guills, so a cigarette on the guills would be like putting it in your nose while breathing in only through the mouth and breathing out only through the nose
