You may already be aware, but several groups have found “interesting” data that is very anomalous, and are beginning some lawsuits for recounts/larger audits (though it takes time).

They actively are. To run legal battles for recounts/audits in many different states is a ton of time, money, and manpower, so it’s not like they can just do it overnight. Also they are building their case to ensure it’s built on actual evidence, rather than Trump’s lawsuits in 2020-21 that started with the conclusion and worked back to find something.

I posted this elsewhere, but there’s already enough “weirdness” that the 2024 election should at least be double checked. I’m a senior data scientist and ETA’s reports are enough to at least raise my eyebrow. We need more comparisons to past elections to confirm that this is truly anomalous, but if that’s shown, then we’ve got some real shit to deal with.

To say they hacked the tabulation machines to inject vote flipping code is a massive accusation, so that requires a lot of solid evidence and we don’t have the smoking gun right now, but we do have possibly some shell casings at the scene.

Since Gingrich, Republicans were especially vocal and greedy, but it wasn’t until COVID that I realized just how fucked our country is given how many hateful idiots support this behavior.

I’m not talking about classically conservative-minded folks who ultimately want the same thing as me, btw. Those people are fine, and even a good balance to a small extent.

The reality is that these people were/are unhappy in their lives due to stagnation in their finances/jobs, poor healthcare, and they don’t have a tight local community. Then these dumb, angry people are primed to accept someone who says they’ll fix their lives, and knows how to talk right to them. Everything else is just toppings, but that’s really the meat of it.

Again, I want to believe, but recent history doesn’t provide that angle. During COVID there were people saying it was a government hoax as they were dying in the hospital. If they can be brainwashed to not believe their own fucking death, then nothing will change them.

I’m not talking about some of the moderates who don’t really mind Trump but don’t stay informed, by the way. I think some small percentage of these folks will be able to see the reality, just not in time.

That’s completely wishful and fantastical thinking. By midterms the base will be so propagandized again to just forget about the regime robbing them blind left and right. I want to believe it, but recent history has taught me otherwise.

Can we just… not? I know this is where everything is headed, and the Republican SCOTUS, Congress, and Executive have been slowly dismantling protections and getting laws in place to make this legal, but there has to be some other way before it gets there.

The core of the issues were fully American. However, USSR/Russia has worked very long and hard to pour nitroglycerin and gasoline on these issues for their own benefit, such as expanding territory, capturing/killing US and NATO spies, etc. all thanks to their little pet in the white house now. I mean in the 30s the same fascist/capitalist leadership tried another coup it just didn’t work (where George H.W. Bush’s father was involved, of course). In the 80s they hollowed out our support system even more, and it’s only declined from there.

The Democratic party in the US is so wimpy. The one thing I respect of Republicans is that they fight for what they want. Often it’s dirty, bad-faith, bottom-dwelling (and sometimes straight up illegal) behavior, but it gets results in a country this dumb and gullible. Democrats need to learn to stop compromising on things they care about.

So far, it’s quite refreshing. However I miss some of the smaller niche hobby subreddits, as fediverse hasn’t gained enough momentum yet. There are “channels” (?) that have like 300 people, and a post every other month, which is too small right now.
