  • The answer is a bit complicated. Linux has a long history with HDR where you would need exact software and hardware, or else no HDR… Just know that it will get easier because the ball has already started to roll in the correct direction.

But the shortest way I can say it now,

If you use Valve’s game mode, (which is possible to get either using steamos, bazzite, chimera OS, nobara, or you can manually set it up. You should be able to get it to work. This should work for windows games that support HDR. AFAIK there are no Linux games yet supporting HDR. It should be possible to get videos playing with HDR also, but that would be an exercise for the reader, or wait until people make it easier.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I currently believe the newest version, of KDE and Gnome are now HDR ready. If I am wrong you might just need the newest beta which will become stable Q2 this year.

Playing videos, I believe the newest version of MPV just got HDR support. With more apps incoming.

Anything that let’s a gamepad or a remote browse your videos? AFAIK not yet, but be patient, as this is all new

  • The first few times sitting in or driving a tesla was cool and novel. But after you have used the fart simulator app a few times, and let your sister in law post a few pictures. It’s just a car that takes a lot of space in small parking spots.

It is low quality, breaks often, expensive to repair, barely fits parking spots, expensive to buy, has paid for addons that have been coming soon the last 10 years

There is a lot of other electric vehicles I’d rather have

  • I hang a towel on a hook over the shower door, I can reach over the door and take the towel right after turning of the shower head. I can dry off in a reasonable comfortable temperature.

This fixes for me most situations except if it’s below -30C outside and it is horribly expensive to have any reasonable temperature in the bathroom without spending unreasonable amounts of money. Then I just dry off quick inside the shower, and put on wool quickly and run into a heated room

  • I’ve ordered a peperoni pizza in several countries in Europe and I’ve never herd this.

Würst is the German word for sausage, and while I can easily imagine Germans saying peperoni-würst, I can’t imagine this being common outside of Germany.

Pepperoni is an Italian style sausage, where the word and branding was made by Italian immigrants in the US.

If you want to order a peperoni pizza in Europe, you might need to know what they call them there, even if they are excellent in speaking English.

In Italy you would order a salame pizza. In eastern Europe, without speaking the local language, I’ve had to order a sausage pizza, and in any country more influenced by American culture, peperoni pizza is what you order. I haven’t ordered pizza in Germany, but I will probsbly do that now the next time.

  • I’ve been married for years now, have multiple kids, my wife still makes fun of the fact that when she moved in with me, I had a pack of sausages, and a 6 pack of beer in the fridge…

My issue with buying food, is that when I go to the store my ADHD kicks me in the face, and I don’t know what I need. I’d make a shopping list, but my ADHD don’t allow me to do that. I have to submit papers for the chance to get evaluated if I need adhd medication, but my ADHD stops me from doing that today, because the deadline doesn’t exist
