Modder, programmer, and all around tinkerer. Yes, I’m that New Vegas and Deus Ex guy.
You can also find me over at kbin.run under the same username. Also kbin.social if it ever comes back from the dead.

Unfortunately, Sony seems to be really hostile towards allowing most any video player apps on the PS5. They specifically went out of their way to remove DLNA support, and they only just allowed a DLNA-enabled video player on the store 7 months ago… and it’s subscription based.
Kinda the same here in Nevada. Our Spanish teacher explained them briefly but told us we didn’t need to learn them, didn’t test us on them, so on.
For taxes: initially it was because business owners were renouncing their citizenship as a way to avoid income and capital gains taxes, as well as estate taxes. Once that was done though then the feds realized they could squeeze everyone.
For the draft: during the Vietnam War people would flee to other countries (usually Canada) and renounce their US citizenship, even if they didn’t obtain citizenship elsewhere. Becoming a stateless person was (correctly) seen as less of a death sentence than being sent to Vietnam.
Ironically enough, you actually have to pay the US Government to renounce your citizenship. The base fee is $2,350, but the application process is so lengthy and complex the total cost can run up into the $20k range. Oh, and you’re still obligated to pay taxes and subject to the draft.
Yeah, but if they can do it that fast on their own, imagine how much faster they can get it done with help.
Besides, if China starts getting a little froggy Japan and South Korea are going to need a lot more than a few armaments to ward them off.
NATO was that, but it may very well continue on as something else. Without the US mind you, but nothing says the rest of the NATO countries can’t just decide to stay in.
Of course it might also be a good time for them to all make the international equivalent of the No Homer’s Club. Either way.
I just remember when the ADL went after David Icke and the guy talking about 12-foot-tall Lizardmen seemed to have the more rational point.
The rumors that the cancelled next season of Enterprise would’ve had Shran as a main cast member had me damn near grieving. That would’ve been amazing.
As my wife put it, the Andorians make Enterprise worth watching.
Gotta justify that printer ink budget.
“The game allows me to do this, that means I’m not an asshole for doing this!” - Every griefer ever.
90% of the time it’s bigots who are upset that they’re getting deplatformed. The other 10% of the time it’s the incredibly idealistic or naive. Either way it’s a crap argument. You are under no obligation to endure verbal diarrhea, nor is it your responsibility to change the minds of the people spewing it. They shit the bed, they can lie in it.
Lemmy.ml has several solid communities, including the largest AskLemmy community. Their top 20 largest communities are all pretty mainstream and don’t really see the kind of posts/comments that make people wary of Lemmygrad or Hexbear.
Almost, but needs a few tweaks:
Content should be border-to-border in the 2000 panel.
Needs to be 3 lines of content in 2010 and only two lines of content in 2018.
2018 needs a slide-over autoplay video on the bottom-left of the content space.
I don’t think there is one for Samsung TVs unfortunately. I only did it for my Android TV. All I did was install SmartTubeNext and that’s it.
Generally I find my Samsung TV pretty insufficient on its own. I keep a Chromecast plugged into it, but a lot of people recommend Android/Google TV boxes since you can use them for casting and installing sideloaded ad-free apps, or even replace the launcher entirely. Walmart’s $20 Onn brand Google TV box gets recommended a lot.
Especially when it’s the same ad repeated over and over. You know what drove me to finally sideloading an adblocked YouTube app onto my TV? Getting interrupted every 2-3 minutes for the same Coors ad repeated at least once.
Yarr harr fiddle-dee-dee!
There’s only one price I’m willing to pay for content with ads, and that’s zero.
Weird Al still wholesome after all these years.
No, he had sense to not ever include any of it from the get-go. Plenty of websites and services suggested he include 88 in his username though.
