While it all sounds very promising, it is a huge project. You can do it once, but are you willing to maintain it for the next 10 years? Keep up with updates, patch vulnerabilities, find vulnerabilities, and all of that? If not, it is likely not worth it.

Phoenix is also an alternative which can be used with Vanilla Firefox.

Not everyone installs browser extensions themselves; many have them installed by relatives or friends.

Some people can’t tell the difference between a search engine and a browser. Some people don’t know how to install software, and use whatever they got. Some people don’t know better.

Them losing access to a tool like uBlock Origin, with the only alternatives being weaker options, is harmful.

I know of people experiencing blockage because they use uBOL, uBO was more effective at bypassing those blocks I assume.

The accurate term is “installing”, not sideloading. Sideloading is a term used to make people think installing the software of your choice is something “shady” and not normal.

Why is the source code not available in the repository? As far I know, the GitHub ToS don’t allow for such use.

I think this can be overkill depending on your threat model, I personally went with Android profiles to seperate parts of my life.

Please avoid using the term “custom ROM”, use preferably “Android Distribution” (is also the term used by LineageOS themselve) as ROM is inaccurate technically speaking.
