Whenever “what’s your favorite technology” comes up, I’m like, there’s a magic box in my kitchen I can stuff full of dirty dishes and they’re clean the next day. And you can tell by their reaction whether they grew up with a dishwasher, or if they were the dishwasher.
Why wouldn’t I want to come home from my gray cubicle job full of annoying people only to turn on a nice gray cubicle full of annoying people
Anytime someone told me I “reminded them of Sheldon” I cut that person out of my life.

English law recognizes takebacksies, yes?

I think X also said Trump could come back, making his exile entirely self-imposed now.
You can try it, it’s called being a happiness pump (in sociological terms), and it’s a fairly good way to go through life, but you’ll snap every so often and maybe kill a family or two. Like everything in life, it’s about finding the right balance for yourself.

Eh it’s playing on that usage, but the tongue is firmly in the cheek enough that it’s obviously not meant in a non-ironic way. As a queer guy I could see playing with the phrase that way, much like how my friends call each other the F word, and people wear “he/him/daddy” shirts at Pride, and all sorts of other ways we can make fun of ourselves and not take ourselves dead serious 100% of the time, which turns people off.
I grew up in Iowa, you could tell an old timer based on the way they pronounce it. We had a stereotype of Missourians always “warshing” their clothes and “fixing” their dinners. “You talk with that lazy mouth like you’re from down Mizzurah.”

The strawman, he’s long dead.
I was for a while. Cut the “cable” in 2003 and was happy to pay a few bucks for a streaming service here or there, more convenient than pirating. But now… well I cancelled them all and am right back to where I was years ago. They are so happy to kill the golden goose.
This is one of those “cute overbearing dad” things until you realize you don’t have appropriate boundaries and it’s influencing your life in ways you don’t like, which usually happens sooner or later. Family counseling is a good place to start if you aren’t sure how to start that conversation. And I say that as a dad that will probably have to be talked down when my own kid hits dating age.
Kids get hurt, it’s not a parent’s job to stop that from happening, nor avenge them. It’s the parent’s job to teach them resilient, appropriate coping techniques.
Getting rid of visible clocks fixed this for me, and all the way to the bathroom and back so I can’t get the time when I go pee. I just assume it’s 12:30 and go back to bed no matter what. Unless the fucking sun is coming up around the edges, then it’s just “your bones are going to hurt today.”
I see you found Mr. Floofintooth

This is now a generational fight. None of us can do anything today or tomorrow that affects immigration wholesale. The pendulum is still swinging. We can just get through this and hope that after 5, 10 years of suffering, after seeing the effects of this play out, and most importantly once xenophobia is passé again, it will be the time to act. So now is the time for seed gathering, for building, for long-term community building projects and for nurturing those around you.
New alt history just dropped. The Dell Dude has never been happier since transitioning into Adele.
“…And my wife won’t shut up, anything you can do about that?”

The states have had decades to fix this, they have done nothing. Federal intervention should have happened 10-15 years ago. That said, we live in an age where fixing problems is not rewarded, so it might have to get this bad or worse before people really want a solution despite it being complex and costly.
How the hell am I supposed to crush up this bracelet
