I think there’s a difference between ending democracy and whatever you’re referring to.

There really is no way without blatantly disregarding the constitution. It would lead to the collapse of the United States.

I think it was more that in the early days of the Nazi party they did accept socialists. It was more of a big tent party because they needed to attract members. Hitler was never a fan of socialism and as he gained power he purged the socialists from the party.

It would be far easier to start a populist movement that reigned in corporations. The problem with revolutions is you never know who’s going to to end up on top at the end. Most likely the new regime will be just as bad as the old. I think what we actually need is more democracy. I like the idea of a democratic referendum that allows the people to force the government into action.

Isn’t threads a Twitter clone? Will it even effect Lemmy? For me personally I don’t use Mastodon, but I might if threads is successful. I use Twitter to follow famous people I like. If famous people move to the fediverse because of threads that will only make sites like Mastodon better in my opinion.

Democracy is good for the oligarchs. Trump is a populist. The oligarchs definitely don’t like him. Even the Koch family is against him.

You don’t need a college degree to work in the trades. This is a point of contention because I’ve heard people say many times they don’t want their tax dollars going towards someone’s liberal arts degree. I’m a wastewater operator. I have a degree but allot of the people I work with don’t.

I noticed allot of the trails in my area are mapped better than on Google.

This is my favorite front end for openstreetmaps. The only problem is I live in NJ and most addresses are missing. I usually just get coordinates from Google maps and add them manually.
