The problem with the r-slur wasn’t the word itself but dehumanizing mentally disabled people; I guess being more overt about it is preferable, if we have to choose one or the other, but you’re not circumventing anything.
The bulk of society doesn’t make a distinction between liberal and the Left; a liberal is someone who is Left-leaning. Ergo, most people will see Bernie as a liberal politician.
It could be a bit of them all; his base isn’t large enough on its own but, together with those who wanted to protest vote and those looking for relief from the economy and those who hated the idea of voting for a black woman, they may’ve all been enough to get him over the finish line.
We all pretend that it didn’t exist and do not acknowledge its presence; that’s the informal rule.
GBA SP was the height of things, for me. Growing up with both the GB and GBC, I never quite forgave Nintendo for dropping GB/C support with the DS. The SP had a backlight and could play every GB game in existence and could easily fit in your pocket by being folded. It felt like the right direction in every way imaginable.
That phrase “based on” is doing a lot of heavy lifting, here.
Not to mention circumvents the purpose of alt. text letting those unable to see to know what’s going on in the image.
It’s just like him to make the maximum degree of suffering the point of any inane policy decision he makes…

Not unintentionally correct…because that was my very intentional point.
In spite of car manufacturers claiming seatbelts and air bags were unnecessary, the sheer number of resulting deaths caused us to actually do something about it. I don’t look at the lack of driver’s licenses as anything approaching a rosy past. I will never be sympathetic to the argument that a lack of common sense safety regulations which saves lives somehow grants us more freedom (other than to abdicate all of your freedoms instantaneously via early death, which overwhelmingly impacts the poor and marginalized); sorry.
He may get a short term gain
He was elected to run the government like a business; this is the CEO signature move.
Like all the car crashes that now require us to get a driver’s license…; can’t mow down the government if you’re trained on the rules of the road!
People can’t just use tools that impact the lives of others outside themselves in peace; smdh…
My state still offers a site with the info. but I’m also in a major city which probably makes useful data more available; every national source keeps shutting down, though…
It’s funny because, while not a 1-for-1 cultural fit, Mastodon’s site structure has felt much closer to Tumblr’s. I feel like the reason Twitter people keep saying Mastodon’s insufficient (while, eventually, flocking to BlueSky) is that BlueSky offers a more similar UX, in terms of shunting you along algorithmically. I don’t think there’s any issue with Mastodon’s UI (other than maybe PixelFed, I think it’s the closest Fediverse project to other mainstream social media UI) but I suspect the UX isn’t quite right for people expecting Twitter.
However, I, as a Tumblr transplant, felt right at home.
…honestly, throw some ham on that and I think it wouldn’t be half bad.
Hate that you put the sweet on the same plate as the savory but you did a great job: it looks delicious.
Don’t embarrass yourself any further.
What section does he mention it (if just one or two)? Don’t have the free time for listening to the full hour, unfortunately, but I am curious (if you don’t mind, of course).
