It’s a long con.
Thank you Microsoft, for taking pressure off Nintendo. 😛
Just one thing to note, that the difference between copying all data to disc vs downloading is of requiring internet. There are still many places in the world where requiring internet access, specially for big downloads can be an issue.
Other than that, I agree with you. And for people with good internet connection, that difference doesn’t matter anyway, both are similar for them.
There are still some games companies that release full games on disc, like Cyberpunk 2077 releasing full game on cartridge for Switch 2. There are other examples too, but they are getting less and less.
I can see both side of the arguments.
Many games are releasing with just a code in a physical box, which among other issues means people can’t resell those, with Game-key cards, at least people can resell these, and the next person can download the game too.
On the other hand, it is kind of officially sanctioning this practice of not releasing a full game on a cartridge, which can lead more companies to follow this example.
I guess it’s upto end users now, to vote with their wallet and let the companies know that they won’t buy these.
Oh yeah, I completely forgot Xbox One. My mind went from Xbox 360 to Xbox Series 🤦♂️
I say mechanics but it’s essential just the UI I don’t like and that there is no weight to the character movement.
Ah okay, haven’t seen the UI myself so can’t say much. Enjoying the game other than these issues? Or is it not for you?
No worries. Even I didn’t think of it until @Phelpssan@lemmy.world mentioned the license.
Do let us know how it works out and if there are any kinks in the system, will be helpful in case someone else has the same issue.
What about keeping the virtual card on primary system and playing online on secondary system?
With the Use Online License setting, this should be possible.
Ah, so you were playing it on Xbox 360? I’ll be playing on PS5, so hopefully it will look nice.
Interesting about Clair Obscur, I am hearing nothing but praises about it. What issue do you have with the mechanics? (I haven’t played it yet, so leave it if it is anything spoilery)
Ah okay, makes sense.
In order to allow my use case, they removed your use case. Maybe this virtual card thing should have been in addition to the current system.
Hope they figure something out (or people find some easy loophole), I would be really annoyed if I were in your shoes too.
Interesting…
As someone who don’t plan to “switch” games daily, my main usecase is just to have some games on one console and some on other, and then play them whenever without worrying about if I am online or not, and I am really happy with their solution (without having used it yet, since I only have one Switch atm).
But I agree, that for someone like you, this might add more steps, and can prove to be quite annoying if doing it daily / regularly. Though I don’t understand your point about being offline. If you are using the current primary / secondary console, then you can’t play on secondary console unless you are online, right? And in the virtual game case, you just have to online when transferring. Or am I missing something there?
About losing access to your console, I am sure there would be a way to deal with it. Remove access remotely or something. If it’s not available yet, they will probably add it sooner or later. But then again, you ever know with these companies.
I agree. It’s published by RedDeer games, which seems to publish many games which are very similar to existing games, without doing much new.
This is just from trailers BTW, haven’t played them yet.
Pokémon is so big, it seems they have stopped putting in much effort. There are some other monster collecting games too, which you can try after this.
Thanks for the info. Subscribed!
Clank: Catacombs seems a bit like Carcassonne, will check some videos.
Cabo also looks interesting. May try a couple of games with standard deck, and get the dedicated deck if people enjoy it.
Good luck with main story!
Yeah, it’s those aggressive monsters that are annoying, specially if you don’t see them coming.
That guide looks interesting, but apparently you need a skell for those. Will take a look if I need to level up quickly. As for money, I have some good amount, but I only have 3 level 1 research probes, and one level 2 (or maybe level 4) one. Need more of those. Have tons of mining probes though, but other than 8 level 1, only have 1 or 2 of all levels, so can’t make any chains. Hopefully will get more of them soon.
RDR 2 is still on my wishlist, haven’t gotten around to playing it yet. Is that bluriness due to some setting? Cause I’ve always heard how beautiful the game is. I am expecting to be blown away by it’s graphics.
Hearing great things about Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, would love to hear what you think about it.
Hehe, good thing I didn’t go there then.
There’s currently only one affinity mission that I can do but I skipped, cause it said it’s mainly in Sylvalum. It’s Phog’s affinity mission, and recommended level is 21, so it shouldn’t be too tough…
Better late than never!
How are you liking it?
Yeah, buy most games at half price or less, fully patched up and with all the DLCs. Such a joy!
