I’m 29 and this is already the case. A lot of the early 2000s internet is already getting hard to find, and even a lot of early YouTube feels like it’s been scrubbed clean, or had stuff auto-muted/removed due to copyright that drastically affects the content. Not to mention all the flash animations and whatnot that might not have made it to somewhere as big as Newgrounds. There’s a lot of stuff I remember watching that seems to be utterly lost
How much are we considering earlier Marvel as part of the MCU? Because even though it was before Iron Man/Hulk and the official “start” of the current MCU, a lot of people seem to forget that the Blade Trilogy existed…
Thinking that speaking out and condemning Israel would help them whatsoever shows you have literally no idea how US politics work. Let me preface this with the following: I’m well aware of the absolute atrocities going on, I don’t think the US should be supporting Israel given the shit they’re pulling, and do wish they would take action against them.
However, speaking out would be FAR more damaging than anything they’ve done so far. Do you have any idea how many Christians in the US literally think of Israel as what will bring about the second coming of Christ, and thus not supporting them would basically be seen and spun as doing Satan’s work?
The Jewish population of the US is literally double that of the Muslim population, so purely from a numbers game, any chance of even denting that support would be suicidal.
Finally, there’s the absolutely comical mainstream media bias where the very moment Harris spoke out strongly against Israel, there’d be an endless spew of how she wants to wipe Israel off the map and finish what Hitler started.
I get it, it’s fucking frustrating and tiring and disgusting what’s going on, but it’s sadly the way it has to be played at the moment, and acting like Trump being elected has any chance at improving the situation is delusional at best.
Huh, a post history consisting of nothing but “What did Russia ever do wrong?” and “Dems bad because genocide”. How many rubles do you get paid per post?
That’s what we thought about Trump.
There was a show I remember way back called “Testees” where it followed a couple of guys who were human Guinea pigs for some pharma company. Each episode was generally about some new drug and the horrible/hilarious side effects and shenanigans that would ensue. There was also a 3rd guy who was basically Frank from It’s Always Sunny, and the B plot would flow him sometimes. In one episode, the company actually makes a penis enlargement pill that works, however a little too well. It’s so big that every time he gets an erection, he blacks out from the drop in blood pressure. Been a while since I’ve thought of that show lol.
Yes, that’s where the original quote comes from.
“I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters.”
When you look at the regulatory environment and enforcement under the Trump admin, even before they were best buds, it’s very clear that Elon is absolutely terrified of a Harris administration. The moment Biden took office, he was almost instantly under investigation from basically every letter agency in the USA, and they’ve been slowly chipping away at his Jenga tower of fraud. He sees Trump as the only way to hold on to his ill-gotten gains and avoid a prison cell.
You don’t know why someone is speeding, and it’s not your job to enforce traffic laws. There was a story I remember reading a while back of someone’s friend having a chainsaw accident, and them watching their friend bleed out in their car because some dumb piece of shit figured they’d play traffic cop and blocked them in traffic. If you see someone driving aggressively, just assume they’re driving that way because they’re about to shit their pants, and let them go on their merry way. Report them if you want, but don’t endanger yourself and others trying to be a “hero”
Clearly you’ve never spent an hour+ on a bus with someone watching TikTok on a fucking Bluetooth speaker.
Looking at the bottom corner of the bumper, I definitely think this is the case
I love that they literally took the plot from a King of the Hill episode satirizing government bureaucracy, and decided that would make for great government policy.
It’s not that I’m getting scammed directly. It’s just the sheer prevalence of them, how much they clog up my feed, and FB’s unwillingness to do anything about them. It seems no matter how much they’re reported, I get the same “We’ve looked into it and found no issues” message. I agree having a payment platform built into the marketplace is nice, but that’s basically the sole benefit I see vs Craigslist.
My issues just really come down to how awful the search function is, and how filters do literally nothing. No matter how irrelevant the items might be to your search, they still feel the need to show you *something *, literally anything to maybe convince you to click on another item.
A while ago I was shopping for a piano, and given how difficult they are to move, I was looking in a fairly small area in Michigan, and some very specific brands/models. Naturally, this meant that when there wasn’t anything that fit those filters, it filled my list with pianos anywhere from Kentucky to South Africa, which at least to my knowledge, is a bit outside the 40mi radius I had set.
It does this constantly, which makes it insanely frustrating because I’ll find something that is within the state in a town I don’t recognize, get interested, only to find out it’s 4 hours away. It doesn’t even bother doing the “We couldn’t find anything that matches, so here are some similar items” thing. Just straight up puts items into the feed that don’t match my search criteria whatsoever, all for the sake of filling it with literally anything it possibly can.
Maybe it’s better for items that can be shipped, but I almost exclusively use Marketplace for local shopping/large items (like cars and pianos), so having even a basic thing like the search radius not even work is a major pain to say the least.
Except it’s not. The filtering, sort, and search functions are truly awful compared to Craigslist, especially if you’re looking for cars. I find so many mislabeled cars because FB Marketplace has an extremely limited set of models and manufacturers, and also has a stupid system where you can’t price late model cars way over KBB, so people have to price things with really stupid values to get around it.
Not to mention the sheer number of blatant scams that Facebook does literally nothing about, regardless of how blatant they are and number of reports. I’ve seen accounts that have 1 star and have dozens of comments about how they’re blatant scammers, but their accounts are still up and they’re still running the same scam. Craigslist had its fair number of scammers, but it didn’t take much to report and get them taken down usually.
Except it’s not, because potentially hundreds of thousands of people, who are most definitely not “the elite”, actually rely on them for, y’know, power? You’re not fucking over “the elite” by fucking with public infrastructure. They have backup generators and batteries and plenty of other ways to run their houses. Not only that, with something like a substation, they’ll probably cry to the government for help with an emergency outage and it’ll just be more public funds going to the.
Sure, but he also knew that part of Biden’s plans were EV tax credits, and nothing gets Elon more interested in something than a government hand-out.
Depending on water temperature (so you’re not burning energy to maintain body temp), salt vs fresh (you’re more buoyant in saltier water), and body fat composition (fat adds to your natural buoyancy), I can definitely see someone who’s in decent shape managing 10 hours. I think the record is over 100 hours, so 40 is definitely going to be well above “normal” but not necessarily superhuman.
And? It still means that the push for EVs wound up creating those factories, and therefore jobs at those factories.
Which is ridiculous because most manufacturers are building multiple new factories for batteries and EVs. It’s a pretty shitty pander all things considered.
