  • This is a direct consequence of the free market act from 2023 that no longer obligated PostNord to deliver post and stopped paying for the service.

it should be highlighted that PostNord was no longer obligated to deliver post because they failed to do so in the first place.

The one saving grace with all of this is the list of “horror examples” from why privatization doesn’t work. PostNord isn’t the only privatized entity and the others have also failed to live up to the socialist high quality standard that free market capitalism tried to replace - but it sure has the most really ass backwards shit examples of how fucking stupid privatization is.

everyone who fucking voted for this should be ashamed.

  • the real problem is moving from twitter (x), to twitter (bluesky). expecting it to be better/different. just like all these people currently running from facebook to band.

really, it’s like running away from jason voorhees and intentionally to freddy kreuger, expecting different results.

i mean. we here on lemmy already did this. we went from digg to reddit, we learned our lesson, and came to lemmy. so to constantly advertise bluesky makes absolutely no sense. albeit i guess it’s the same principle, people of twitter need to experience enshitification of bluesky before they learn and settle on the fediverse.

  • our taxes goes to fund resources and development. and a large part of those taxes goes directly to microsoft so our governments can maintain windows and office installs instead of developing a public solution; its a problem because we aren’t actually getting anything from the taxes that goes to microsoft; which, unless you live in the US, is practically illegal unless specifically hiring a domestic corporation to supply the product (good ol’ privatization).

oh sure. big bad china gonna get us. meanwhile, the US keep fucking with us over here in europe and breaking our laws in the name of american private enterprises.

but yes, europe should really stop relying on foreign corporations for vital infrastructure, and yet here we are, laws being broken, national security thrown out the window, and no one cares.

  • buddy from the US moved to europe. kept whining about his local pizza joint. I assumed it was just crap but eventually asked what was wrong with it, “The pizzas got these weird ass names like Capricciosa and they are absolutely covered by toppings. WHERE IS THE BREAD?!?!”
