    A few friendly reminders:

It is OK to be wrong. Smart and kind people will not think less of you for being wrong. They WILL think less of you if you dig in your heels despite being presented evidence that proves you wrong.

It is OK to change your opinion or view when given new information. This is how we grow as a species.

AirBnb became popular when hotels inflated prices around certain events or were at capacity. Since then, AirBnb owners have jacked up prices to be more expensive than hotels, and you have to deal with the “landlord attitude.” It turned from a genuine service into another cash grab scheme.

  • I would ride it out assuming inflation and rising cost of living didn’t exist. Well, those things do exist. The question you need to ask yourself is if you would be unhappy living with the spending power of ~60% of what your spending power is now. If the answer is anything other than a solid yes then you should be looking.

Finish up any schooling and get a new job lined up before you leave your current job. The current job market is incredibly toxic and near impossible to navigate. People are posting vague job descriptions they have no intentions of hiring for to make it look like they are growing when they are really stagnating. AI is being used to push highly skilled workers back into the market.

  • You just jumped to a critical extreme and thought you made a good point? They often say the moment you bring up Hitler you lost the argument.

And once again, you are conflating the goal and the path.

“He wanted to make Germany great” is the goal. “By getting rid of all the undesirables” is the path. The goal is good. The path is bad.

Take a step back, calm down, and think instead of having extreme knee-jerk reactions to everything. Admitting there is something else besides 0 and 100 and that nuance exists would be a great start.

Edit: And before anyone tries to put words in my mouth, the goal mentioned above was probably not Hitler’s goal. I do not support any of his human rights violations or his well-known ideologies. (I simply do not know enough about his lesser known ideologies or motives to make an educated assessment). Hitler was bad. Nazis were and are bad. The Tesseract developer did not kill millions of people.

  • I’m getting older and more tired. I don’t have the energy to deal with what is a high chance of intentional trolling, misinformation, or smearing. People intentionally twisting my words to be politically opposite of what I said has been on the rise over the last year or two, and I simply dint want to interact with people who are malicious or blindly support what someone says without actually reading the context.

The real world is already shit. I don’t need to interact with these people online too.

  • China may be a dictatorship, but they actually put tax money into public projects. When they say they are going to do a project for the next X years it actually gets done. As a result, when cool new projects come up, the infrastructure is already there. It is one of the reasons why Chinese EVs are so good and so cheap.

Meanwhile, we have the US where the government is wholly noncommittal to public services that don’t extract money from their citizens. They frequently break contracts and agreements when they are no longer profitable or beneficial to the upper class. We have private militaries kidnapping and killing legal citizens just for existing.

It’s no wonder people view the US less favorably than China. Both are evil, but at least China doesn’t behave like a petulant child.
