Cop discounts are more about ensuring frequent patrols than anything altruistic.

Games workshop would then have to use both of them. Space marines pre-date both of them.
Kids. Being married before you have kids is huge in some states and important in many. In my state unmarried father’s have no rights to children even if they sign the birth certificate. Sure you can adopt, but that’s far more expensive than a marriage certificate.
Protection in the case of breakup or divorce. You have rights to shared property in a divorce, you have no rights to anything you didn’t buy or put in your name otherwise. You can sort of solve this with making a partnership and putting all assets into it, but it’s not quite the same and far more complicated. Also if you aren’t the breadwinner, there isn’t really a way to ensure spousal support without a marriage.
Legal protections. You can’t be compelled to testify against a spouse. While you can do things like medical power of attorney, you don’t get it by default like marriage, which means you either need that document on hand at all times or in an emergency situation you could be prevented access or decision making authority until you provide documentation. There’s also social security, you can draw on a spouse, but there isn’t an equivalent, same for pensions that offer survivor benefits.
Insurance benefits from employers generally require you to be married.
I enjoy swat, but even with the occasional episode about bad cops, it’s ridiculously pro cop. I’ve decided that the reason I like the occasional cop show is the fantasy of what if cops were actually good.
This actually helps AI, once his writing gets tagged as an attempt to confuse models it can be adapted to. Also because humans aren’t as good at random as they think they are it’s likely easy for an LLM to recognize.
4chan was a place you could see child porn on any given day and it was still active. That doesn’t just happen without the government being ok with it.
Not terribly surprising, it was understood that at a minimum 4chan was working with the FBI a decade ago. It’s also entirely likely they weren’t hacked and the leak is fake as well.
Sliced bread was the best thing since Betty White
Monopolies are not the only thing that governments are supposed to prevent. Anti competitive practices are supposed to be illegal regardless of monopoly status. The same is true of cartel behavior.
Each game has their own little quirks and focuses. From what I remember sc3000 is best to start in a corner. You only get half the pollution from buildings on the edge, which is pretty big in the early game. You also get easier access to trade partners which is a good source of income later. Public transportation is also important, and very expensive, so you need to aggressively maintain a strong budget surplus to keep expanding.
There’s also some magic numbers to know as you get more familiar with the game. Airports, farms, ports, and subways all have sizes you need to keep in mind when planning.
Grapes of Wrath is a slight stretch, but it’s shear length relative to it’s message makes it a very empty book.
I wouldn’t say nothing burger, but they’ve definitely aged poorly.
It’s more than that. There’s also stalker fantasy and a ridiculously overpowered main character.
Thunderstorms on test days are always more fun.
It also plausible they don’t even need to buy the expensive bits ahead of time. There’s a ton of downtime in these shows where they are shooting different scenes. There’s likely plenty of time to text a PA that’s already in the grocery store to buy the lobster or the filet while the elimination is being shot and next round prep is happening.
This is just small claims court. You can just leave and not pay for a month you aren’t there, I wouldn’t expect the security deposit back though.
Move out first, then if you don’t get the security deposit back, try small claims court. You have to decide if the deposit is worth the fight though. It’s around $250 to file and serve your landlord. Assuming you win, there’s no enforcement of them paying you. You would need to then take that order to another judge and likely provide details on how to get that money back to get an order that should eventually get that money back.
The public domain allows free use of anything in it. It allows people to innovate and expand upon established knowledge without having to pay tribute to original creators or their estates.
Intellectual property was created as a compromise to get people to be more open with their works. It allowed artists and writers to create things without risking their creations copied and losing their livelihood. Similarly inventors were also encouraged to publish how they invented because it granted them a period of exclusive access to controlling that method. In the long term the public benefits by getting access to everything.
All companies are tech companies, those that aren’t will be replaced by those that are. It’s been a common theme for a decade. I don’t really care that some venture capitalists lost their easy button to decide where to throw money for massive returns. Investing is supposed to require diligence.
It still costs more if you have significant scraps as that product is essentially processed twice. Even a half cent of extra cost per thousand bars gets significant.
I don’t see things changing without a coordinated strike and deaths from lack of care. I also don’t think most healthcare workers are up for that.
