I agree with this. I’m not sure it is fair to compare Craigslist to social media, even tho it did have a social section. That section was closer to Usenet in my opinion. I wish Craigslist and/or the local classifieds were used more where I live.
The MSPB dismissals got me since the MAGA folks seem so obsessed with anything that they deem to be not based on merit. Obviously they lie, and this is great evidence of that.
I do! That is a key to a house I haven’t been to since 2018. It’s my package opening key 🙂 But good info to share! Don’t post your keys.
I think @merde@sh.itjust.works and @CMDR_Horn@lemmy.world have the right direction with theDermestidae family of beetles. Looking at some pictures of the adult stage, I have seen those occasionally, and tried to use the Seek app to get an answer on them. These beetle looks pretty close to the larder beetle. Their life cycle seems to fit what I am seeing with the timeline.
I have some better photos but do not know how to add more. It is almost certainly this family. Maybe this one is a random visitor; it is on the wall where I park my bike.
I really like inaturalist (seek) but it failed me.
I think that you and @merde@sh.itjust.works have gotten pretty close if not on the exact! I did not just recently purchase anything taxidermied… Is this going to be like miller moths?
I wish I could get a better photo. I do not have a macro lens but I may be able to get better details with a real camera.
Anyway, from up close observation with a small pen light, it looks like the “legs” really are “hairs,” and the legs are all underneath the body, caterpillar style.
If you are in a position to see a neurologist, that could be a great way to get a better answer. I have seen a neurologist regularly for almost 30 years for something else, but also have minor tremors/twitches that predated why I see the neurologist. My twitches are like an eyebrow vibing, or a small portion of thigh muscle, etc. Anyway, neither of the neurologists I saw for over ten years felt I should be concerned, but I also didn’t pursue it. I had other concerns. A main/family doctor may be able to help, also. Not sure.
Anyway, doctors should listen, and then they may have questions about things like family history. That is really where the quality of life can matter. It isn’t about now, but later. If you can afford the doctor visit.
When I first got involved in this, I had a kbin and a lemmy account. I ended up focusing on the kbin, but it was useful to have the lemmy to see how things moderated. Kbin is dead now, but I still will occasionally use the lemmy to see how things look. I find it valuable. As an mbin person now, I think I should have some other instances in the mix as well. It’s a federation, and for me, I would like things to be appropriate for all of us. It’s kind of fun! Even if I am not a big user of other instances/federations?
Totally misunderstood the headline until I read the article. I work for the federal government, and most folks in my small town have the attitude that “they aren’t coming after jobs here, just people in DC or higher levels.” It is incredibly hard to change these perceptions, even when things DO affect folks at the local level. People can make excuses for almost anything 😑
In theory it could reduce the budget
It really is a dog and pony show. It looks good to certain people, but it doesn’t pencil out, especially long term as you mention.
This makes it much clearer and ties some separate events together that I hadn’t thought about, thanks! I really hope this provides the Kurds with peace, stability, and growth as well.
Wow, this seems pretty unexpected. I wonder what prompted this beyond that October call?
Haha another “great” memory wrapped up in that video.
I see. I bought my first laptop in 2013 (used), and by then I was pretty ensconced in Linux. That machine didn’t have those ports.
Some of what you said about appearances of women vs men have to do with toxic culture. 50 yo man with gray? Hot dad bod. 50 yo woman with gray? Past her prime. It’s complete crap and enforces unhealthy habits. Not that you believe these things, but “society” does.
What alternatives are there to Duolingo?
