I’m a big advocate for the ketogenic diet (when followed correctly), but even just cutting down carbs is a great way to reduce weight and lower your A1C. Cutting down sugars from a typical diet can lead to withdrawals that are almost as bad as cutting smoking. We eat too much sugar as a species.

I meant outside the building. No where did I suggest people protest in hiding. Protesting is a right, but maybe not protesting inside the Capital. At least some of the Jan 6th insurrection “protesters” were peaceful, and they were also rightfully arrested and charged.

They could just protest in front of the capital. No need to go inside and disrupt…Whatever the hell they are doing in there right now, but otherwise might be conducting government business.

It’s all “TikTok” now. I see TikTok, YT Shorts, Reddit video clips, Facebook video clips, IG video clips, etc. They are all TikTok in my head, and I don’t care enough to check them each out to differentiate between them and change my mind. This must be what getting old feels like.

If people want to protest, it should be outside the capital. Protesting inside the capital does nothing for their cause.

It doesn’t matter how many people or what kind of people moved from Reddit. I was there 14 years (Digg 4.0 exile here). They have a new group of people now. My wife and kids now use Reddit, but it’s not the same type of user interaction I experienced there in the past. It’s very much a mix of scrolling through TikTok videos and sparse reading of comments on an /r/askreddit thread. It’s casual browsing and video content. There are still some holdouts, which I think mostly contribute to what’s left of the comment section, but that’s it. It sucks, because I miss the discussions there. Lemmy kind of scratches that itch, but the content is slow to come in, and the comments so few. I’m doing my part, and I am much more active here than I ever was on Reddit.

There was a chart here posted a few days ago that listed countries by happiness. I think Norway and some other countries that are not considered capitalist were near the top. Even with those countries, something like 20-25% were still not happy. That is a large percent. Imagine if the world put just 10% of the effort going into profiting of of AI into figuring out what makes humans happy and implementing it.

Honestly, I expect some form of it in the next five years. Tech can move fast when it wants to and there’s 💵 involved.
