I think its funny that you mention us still having cavemen levels of designated gender, I’ve seen references to neolithic and Neanderthal people as being less rigid, example skeletons buried with weapons or hunting equipment designated male until DNA shows they’re female, also bodies of tattooed female shamans. I can’t point you in the direction of any links yet (I’m in a hospital right now) but I think its assumed that child care, “womens work” keeping the home fire burning and the food cooking was more of a joint community effort with both male/female involvement

Perhaps our ancestors were more accepting of the natural mosiac of gender and sexuality than we are now?

I think the dogma of the Church has destroyed a lot of natural rhythms of human nature, the whole “its Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve” strict gender roles/rules and misogyny, which is ironic as Jesus was always about love your neighbour, do unto others, let he who is without sin etc And let’s face it he probably had a wife and female disciples

Its always about power and control to stop the majority overthrowing the rich minority, then as now

I think its interesting how people tie themselves into knots with the whole binary male/female with convoluted descriptions of large small gametes defining gender (I’m particularly thinking of jk rowlings tweet and all the terf stuff)

I can see how binary definitions can never adequately reflect the complexity of an individuals internal experience. And also the designation of male/female is a social construct than biological reality

I am a late in life diagnosed autistic woman, my experience of reality will always differ from someone who doesn’t have sensory issues because of my autism. I’ve had my mother, teachers and friends deny my experiences of reality because it doesn’t match theirs. It seems barbaric to apply outdated social constructs to something as varied and complex as a human being

The electrics for these are straight forward, certainly here in the UK, and the proper info on the internet (actual diy websites) I’ve found to be accurate. Also the smoke alarm and bathroom extractor came with installation instructions

Do you have a photo of the IKEA bookcase? I’ve got a few IKEA things which worked well in my flat, I know they get criticised sometimes, but if you get the solid wood rather than the particle board their furniture does last

I know that you can do more with an actual camera, lenses, tripod etc, but lugging it around can be a pain. Both me and the bf have gotten good shots with phones (well, him more than me), and using the edit features can really “make” them pop

I love the graffiti in your photo, and the fact the alleyway is clean! If I went and took a similar photo near me they’d be all sorts of filth, including shit everywhere… now my bf likes that kind of dingy urban filth in his photos, but not me, that’s the last place I want to be at night or early morning

My bf is a million times better photographer than me, but I’ve learnt a lot from seeing how he composes shots, what he looks for- angles, the lighting, quirky things too

I’ve done a few things mentioned in the comments here, but I’d be so incredibly shit at this…respect!

I’ve made some wet felt bowls which was great fun, and quite easy too!

I think next time I’d use the washing machine less hassle, although my hands were incredibly soft and exfoliated with the other method

I’m going be doing this soon! I’m quite practical anyway, and there’s the internet for help and also just taking your time, it was pretty nerve wracking replacing my extractor fan, ceiling rose and smoke alarm…but I did it with trembling hands, and everything works

Me and the bf designed and built a workspace and wardrobe/storage thing, but I think I’d be able to do it myself if I had to

I think once you’ve had a go and managed it successfully, you learn what went wrong, what you’d do differently, and then have the confidence and skills to do more challenging jobs

A lot of these things are actually quite straight forward, no demi god abilities required!

My bf is having surgery this week, and he’s going to be very difficult to manage both pre and post op. If I can keep calm (autism makes it hard) I’m hoping that I can manage…there may be a freak out post or two here if I’m doing badly…

I repay my parents loaning me some money, then trees (apple and native for wildlife), do up my attic, get a man and machine to dig a pond for wildlife, some evergreen trees and plants for a Japanese garden, maybe laser eye surgery and a face treatment for reducing sun damage… And a dog and cat, perhaps some goats (rehomed)
