I don’t see how they could feasibly ban interstate travel without an ID. Even if they put checkpoints at state line crossings on every single Interstate highway there are probably dozens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of other roads they would have to account for. In Rhode Island alone I counted 154 roads that cross into Connecticut or Massachusetts which don’t lead to dead ends.

Believe it or not, you’re allowed to knock on someone’s door in America without getting shot/assaulted even if you don’t have a good reason to be there.
